Under what circumstances do you imagine the fire starting from/where would it be??
I've been thinking about this all day and I would love to hear your ideas!!
Anyway, I had a few ideas
The first one, Clarisse was kidnaped while they were in the city (they shouldn't be there by the way) Silena tried to defend her but failed, when she woke up she quickly followed them into the forest (stole a horse and everything to make the guards follow her), they had Clarisse kidnaped in an old cabin, seeing that the guards where to close they closed the door and burned down the place (they were triying to kill the only heiress to the crown, so It didn't matter how)
And Silena, poor stupid child jumped into the fire to save her, she had to break the door, Clarisse was bleading and tied up, half out for the smile and heat, Silena quickly cut the ropes, and helped her get up, she used the last of her strenght to push Clarisse outside before the cabin falling onto her
Luckily the soldiers where near and they saved Silena, but the damage was done, she had the left side of her face burned, her hand and part of her arm too, barely made It out (Clarisse spent every day and night taking care of her), she survived, and the General (Hedge) made her an oficial knight (something Silena was training day and night to become) and with the approval of the King made her Clarisse's gurdian
The second is a little darker, Clarisse is the oldest and Frank the youngest, they love eachother dearly and honestly neither of them mind how destiny made Clarisse the heiress to the throne
But Ares, he hates It, because Clarisse's mother left him (abusive piece of shit), and because of that, he hates Clarisse (it's stupid but honestly it's not so strange that father's hate their daughters just because they're women) anyway, after that he married a duchess and had Frank, he's favourite. He want's Frank to become the king so bad, but he's two years younger than Clarisse and has his sister on the highest pedestal ever, like, even the knew queen loves Clarisse dearly as if she was her own
So unfortunatly, he can't convince any of them to do the dirty work, so, he pay a few assasins to kill her, to make It look like an accident
Then one day, Clarisse's room burst in fire, Ares yells orders and everything, he knows they won't be able to save her, the assasins made sure to lock the door, so, when Clarisse goes outside with her hands burning from the door with another girl, well, he can't find the words, because surprise, Silena (the daughter of duchess Aprhodite if he remembers correctly) a girl that was triying to become a knight, she was close, she heard the screams, she jumped into the fire as if It couldn't burn her, one of the assasins (that was still there) burned her face before throwing the torch and scape, they barely made it out, but they did
So know, Silena, with half of her face burned and Clarisse, with her hands burned, are telling everyone that there were assasins in palace, and the guards of the walls saw two people running away, so, the general and the royal family (except Ares of course), start fearing for the futures queen lives, and, since Silena was already triying to become a knight and just saved the princess, well, she becomes a knight and her guard
The comun is that Silena saves Clarisse, and because of that becomes a knight
In the first one the kingdom want's to kill Ares because he's a bad King and Clarisse because they don't want her to become like her dad
In the second is Ares who tries to kill her daughter or marry her so she doesn't become the Queen, to the point is scary
