LEOW Unloaded

Are people my age still on Tumblr?  Oh well, here I am.  I have scoured social media for a community of like-minded people and, despite there being millions of human beings on this planet, I am struggling.  As my username and page description suggests - I am married to a Deputy. Our daughter is three, and I’m fairly certain her one goal in life is to be the next Meryl Streep, she is quite the little actress.  I love Fallout and The Sims - University, am I right? Tiny Living, can’t freakin’ wait.  I have recently become very interested in Japanese culture, I stumbled across a couple of vloggers and have gotten completely hooked.  We aren’t particularly religious - which I think is a huge contributing factor in the lack of community issues I’ve been having. I’m not against religion, but I don’t want to use it as a way to... cope (maybe the wrong word)... with my position in life. I don’t feel a bond to religion. I feel immediately disconnected when I see prayers overlaying pretty, feminine, thin blue line artwork.  Reddit is cool - but the anonymity can be kind of intimidating and the LeoWife subreddit is slow as molasses.  Speaking of intimidating - I have social anxiety. I was diagnosed as a teenager (ah, high school) and as I’ve gotten older it’s gotten so much better but I don’t push to engage in social activities. I enjoy being at home. I enjoy re-charging. I enjoy binging on YouTube videos and just chilling with my kid.  Anyway. I kind of lost myself while my husband was in the academy and am just started to try to re-identify with who I am and what my interests are. I got really caught up in the “influencer influence” and found myself wanting our home to be farmhouse chic and wanting to wear clothes that were uncomfortable and go on trendy diets. When in reality, I love our giant Pulp Fiction canvas print and our records and our games and Pokemon and cutesy decor. I love black. I love my thick eyeliner and dressing my toddler in band tees to match me.  And, I hate cooking. I said it. My husband loves cooking. I hate it. I would rather do the dishes. 

I am really hopeful that Tumblr will have what I’m looking for. I’m not JUST a LEOW, I don’t JUST want to talk about how that impacts my life - although I would love to be a resource or friend to any spouse who needs one! I want to learn more about different cultures, talk about cool CC for The Sims, connect with other people who have anxiety or who are parents.
