short answer, yes.

long answer, sometimes. some systems don't experience it, but its not unusual for alters to perceive things differently. i only get that mildly, so we have the same taste preferences but some of us prefer different fabrics while not being too bothered by it

I do not know how to truly fuck up a cake. I have fucked up one (1) cake in my whole life and I do not understand how.

I do not mean something such as forgetting the rising agent or using salt instead of sugar. I mean truly. Irreparably. Catastrophically. Fucking up a cake.

It's how you see it depicted in movies or fanfiction. A cake so truly awful that it bears no resemblance to what it once believed it could be. A conglomerate of despair. A pile of burnt sludge in a cake tin.

My experience with this anomaly was beautiful

It was the texture of tapioca pearls, perhaps ones slightly over cooked. It was a sickly yellow, that of a jaundiced infant. It weighed more than the sum of the bowl before cooking. It held its shape well.

It surprisingly tasted good. I suppose that is the one thing a truly fucked up cake cannot lose of itself.

This phrase has already entered my vocabulary re: media criticism where like. The viewer has a concrete view of what they expect a story to be based on the tropes and cliches they're used to seeing together, and when that doesn't happen, they judge it as a failed depiction of what they assumed it was going to be instead of judging it as what it actually is.

"This show is problematic because the hero didn't kill the villain at the end": When does he steal the bread?

"These two characters who were close friends throughout the series don't kiss at the end! What the fuck?": When does he steal the bread?

"This feels like it's missing a conclusion! Like, the protagonist does bad stuff and because of a critical decision he makes as a result of his major character flaws, meets tragedy in the end! Where's the part where he learns better and brings is love back from the dead and becomes a good guy and gets a happy ending?": When does he steal the fucking bread??
