First of all, don't watch this if you never watch any cdrama. Why? You'll not be prepared by how they didn't adapt it faithfully. I have a very low expectation in watching this and some cdrama made me jaded so I'm fine. Its like Word of Honor? Some of the changes are fine with and some is I just can't accept. I like WOH but also hate some part of it. That's how I felt watching it. Its better than The Long Ballad but not better than Word of Honor. Yes, they lean to comedy aspect but I don't mind the comedy version of You Yao donghua despite being adapted from dark novel so maybe that's why I took it well. From what I can see, it's like a mix match of what's happening in anime s1 and s2. They introduced some characters way early while all of the different arcs are happening at the same time.

The fighting scenes and main couple scenes are the highlight for me. The main couple chemistry is what makes me keep watching this. That's my childhood ship and I want them to be happy. I love their slow burn developing relationship. I might not be a fan of Li Yitong acting direction in some scenes but girl is very pretty. I can see her as Shuurei if only she was directed well. Believe or not, Zeng Shunxi surprises me the most. He's so good even if this is the first time watching him. He really embody the puppy man Ryuuki. I really like when he transition from his foolish self to actually wise leader. He might be my fave portrayal. People might say ohh he doesn't look like the character but I shall defend him and say it's about the character's aura. His face shape actually reminds me of WOH Wen Kexing, another dog-coded character.

I know I already said I'm not looking forward to Deng Wei's Sakujun but wow the more I watch it, the more I hate it. Not only his facial hair doesn't look good on him, he doesn't look scary or a threat in not love rival way but as a villain, him falling for Shuurei quickly in the most shallow way possible but well making sense of his action is kinda useless and his good grandson image irritates me. Sorry, I just can't. Every time he appear it just ruined everything for me. Yes, he's handsome but I'm talking about what the production did to his character okay. It's not about him but his character. I wish they did what WOH did to Ghost Valley Master Wen Kexing. Don't reveal him early and slowly introduce him. I think I will love him more that way even if he's less questionable. Its like they don't know how to introduce this cool character... He kill people but the camera angle and lighting are not helping at all to persuade the viewers he's the villain. I actually feel bad for Deng Wei.
