this post is gaining some traction,, i am aware the switch doesn't truly turn off because it's always performing some background tasks (staying connected to wifi, online stuff, what have you), but by the same token the DS was able to keep the correct date and time after a decade at the bottom of a drawer. so the point is that perhaps modern devices like the switch have unnecessary features not needed for a good gaming experience...
