After the Ritual Norah doesn’t smile like, once. She doesn’t react when William and Isaac joking around and all she can think about is completing this ritual. She’s one track minded, she literally tells her friends to shut up (rightfully so but its still so ooc for her, normally), there’s moments where she seems so cold and distant its hard not to be freaked out by it. That moment where Norah refuses to let go of the night sticks with me especially. The way Milo described it as if Norah was equal parts terrified of, and comforted by the knife— what if that carries over in her life after Empty Graves?

Because sure, the threat is gone, but so might her dad and so might Lui, and how is she supposed to cope with the weight of what she’s done as well as the weight of the grief she’s experiencing?

After all, sanity is a permanent stat. She cant recover the sanity she lost during Diseased Residents or Empty Graves. If thats permanent, why wouldn’t shifts in her personality be too?

What if we never get to see the Norah who talks about fish facts, or starting a band, or how she couldn’t get through the genocide run of undertale again? What then?

“you did all you had to by surviving. you- could’ve learned more but maybe you would’ve died trying, and i’d rather you stay alive.”

“… same for you.”

“yeah, i get really close a lot though.”
