Lemon Bird is making Zoe's Game

We're a group of friends making Zoe's Game, a horror narrative puzzle game about a birthday party that goes wrong, so a bunch of people will have to play a deadly escape room in order to escape from a mansion full of traps. But who can they really trust?

Our game is made in Godot and fully human-made, free of slop.

It features a cast of LGBTIQA+ characters, with queer trauma being a key element in its narrative and subtext.

Just for existing, we LGBTIQA+ people have been forced to live with fear, hiding what we are for mere survival, scared of having our dignity attacked, being harmed or even killed.

But no, we are not going to shut up and accept it. We are going to keep fighting, with our goals clear, to protect our rights and our lives.

Our fight is today, and every day.

We are from Catalonia, and on April 23rd we have a special celebration called Sant Jordi, which is based in the legend of Saint George, a knight who defeated a dragon to save a princess and her reign. According to the legend, red roses were born from the dragon's blood. It's our Lovers Day and also the Book Day, so streets are usually full of markets selling roses and books.

For this day we decided to make two special illustrations depicting sapphic themes.

This tender watercolor illustration was made by Héctor Ayen (Concept Artist). It features Kai (the protatonist, they/them) and Zoe (mysterious Kai's love interest, she/her) from Zoe's Game. Each one holds a book and a rose.

The second illustration was made by Lyhdyr (2D Artist) in Procreate. It depicts Ashes (she/her) and Zoe, who this time is dressed as a dragon. There is a certain tension between them, don't you think?

We had our own booth for Sant Jordi, shared with our friends from Narvalian Games, creators of the game Un Sant Jordi de Paper / Paper Knight (demo available on Steam!). People could come to try our games and we also sell these illustrations and the ones from the Asexual & Trans Visibility Days.

This is an illustration that Lyhdyr made for the International Asexuality Day (April 6th). She's Hécate, a character from Zoe's Game.

Since it's pride month we're going to start sharing here the special illustrations that we made some time ago.
