AU: Obi-Wan flees Mustafar, leaving Anakin unscathed and instead of going into the exile he becomes the weapon of the Resistance, fighting for the remnants of the Republic. Meanwhile, Anakin known as Lord Vader builds the Empire, conquering worlds, owning nations and hunting down Jedi, with one particular Jedi always on top of his MOST WANTED list. On opposite sides of the conflict they continue to meet and clash, Anakin making his absolute priority to find him, catch him, make him pay, (have him, keep him, kill him?), Obi-Wan fiercely eluding him, trying to keep the existence of twins secret (along with Padmé ’s survival). “I will find you at the end of the world, old man.I will always find you!” “Why? You have your Empire, you have your power, you have your glory, why?” “Because you’re mine. Mine to punish, mine to have, mine to torture, mine to kill.” “Well, here I am. Do your best.” But they can never win, they fight, like they always did, together, in oneness, reading each other’s moves, not knowing how to clash but to belong. “You and I are destined to do this forever.” And so they are, because they are the other’s weakness and Anakin will never be THE IMPERIAL GENERAL fully devoted to this project with Obi-Wan out there, chance wasted, hope betrayed, love aching and the other way round, Obi-Wan will always hope to save him as he allows him to spread havoc, massacre and destruction.
