“yes, i am!” chaemi chimed, bowing before pulling a chair next to luna to sit. she set down her bag, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and sitting comfily in the leather chair of similar design to her senior. “it looks like i took you by surprise,” she laughed, opening her laptop and swiftly typing in her code. “but that’s alright; i wanted to show you some songs that i’ve already produced that i think would fit the type of sound you normally have,” she paused, turning her head to face luna. “unless, of course, you want to try something else? regardless, i’ll show you what i’ve got for you.”
before luna could respond to her previous question, chaemi pressed the space key on her laptop to play the instrumental of a song she’d produced herself out loud. she bounced her knees under the table in excitement, hoping to get a positive reaction out of her senior. she’d made this song with a solo artist in mind; she didn’t think a group would — or could, for that matter — pull off a song as calm as this. of course, chaemi already had lyrics to complete her piece, but never mentions them until she got a thumbs up from whoever she’s working with. so instead, she chewed her lip and bobbed her head to the beat until an answer came from luna.
a laugh escapes her and she scratches the inside of her arm lightly ( nervous habits she’s never been able to shake, oh how she despises them ). “you did, i’ve been a bit... scattered as of late, i thought our session was a different day. i’m glad you came, though. i was looking forward to meeting you properly.” luna wasn’t particularly close with anyone in the company, tending to keep them at an arms length. especially her juniors, but she was already growing fond of the other girl. smiling, she nodded as she listened to chaemi. she was prepared, luna could appreciate that. and it was clear she had a lot of passion - in her eyes, passion was the best thing to have as an artist, aside from dignity and a strong will.
slender digits drum against the desk along to the beat, keeping her expression neutral. from what she’d learned over the years, it was better to keep your enjoyment hidden away if for no other reason than to make them nervous. as the song comes to a close, luna straightens her back and offers a smile. “i like it, you did a good job.” better than she was expecting, if she was honest. “how long have you been producing?”
