So I have a similar ask here but I think he finds the entire thing overwhelming and hard. He has way more meltdowns due to his hormones and the heighted senses are a nightmare for him.

Morning sickness would be the worst. Ilya finds Shane crying most mornings due to it.

Ilya spends a lot of time looking after Shane. Lots of cool compresses if he's throwing up. If he's craving something that would cause sensory issues he tries to figure out how to give it to Shane without causing distress. Like finding an alternative.

Ilya makes sure that Shane's meltdown tools are readily available, that the lights are dimmed and that he is as comfortable as he can be.

My favourite headcannon is hockey is emotionally regulating for Shane, so the fact he cannot be on the ice anymore is horrible for him. In the end, Ilya lets Shane use their at home rink, but only very gentle exercises are to be had and near the end Shane is not allowed on the ice at all. But somehow they manage it.
