In this alternate universe Sebastian is a timid, not yet fully accustomed to death, sensitive and kind man doing everything possible to ensure his work is done well (though he's still far from perfect). Reflecting on his connection to Ciel (in au he can be his brother or smth like that) I want to see him as someone who has made a huge mistake but even that can't stop him from protecting and caring. Claude by comparison to Seb seems doubly laid-back, has numerous battle scars, and seems like a complete slacker but in reality he works quickly and is highly experienced. I'd say being Death would be a kind of celebration for him. Taking a soul from the dead? Easy. Fighting a demon for fun? Like taking candy from a child. He is one of those who caused the spread of rumors about the reaper's love for light affairs but he simply doesn't want to let anyone be close justifying his superficiality by his constant busyness and complete inability to have a family.

another old drawing for the circus arc, and another headcanon, that reapers can hide their presence from mortals (this is reinforced by manga Emerald Witch arc, where Sascha and Ludger wonder why our Ciel can see them). People who have contracts with demons, or who participated in the murder, see them anyway, gray, more like living statues with cracks.

why should i invent an OC if i can headcanonically remake a created character SO MUCH that no one will recognize him
