What sea otter behaviors might we see in the bay?

🪨 Whack-a-snack: using rocks to crack open the shells of tasty prey.  🛟 Furry float: resting on their backs on the water’s surface. 🦦 Belly buffet: eating food off their chests while doing the furry float! 🪵 Log roll: trapping air bubbles in their dense fur coats for insulation. 🫧 Fluffy cheeks: rubbing their faces to distribute natural oils. 🌿 Grass wrap: anchoring themselves in place while resting, sleeping, or diving for food. 🔭 Periscope: poking their heads out of the water to observe their surroundings. If an otter is spying on you, this can be a sign you’re getting too close. Remember to keep your distance!
