Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.
I've followed some blogs for a decade, sometimes through many iterations. Tracking them down, hunting for the vestiges of what they were, they fulfill me and I actively seek them out. Some are my night time ritual. Some are my pick-me-ups. Sometimes I'm not just the first but also the only like on a post.
But I've never said a word to any of them because in my mind I'm some weirdo silently stalking them without their knowledge or their wish to be interacted with.
Meanwhile, they're posting the most bizarre stuff you could ever dream of wondering why no one ever says hi.
