A cis woman who doesn’t have boobs or wants bigger ones can go and buy them any time if she has the money. A cis man with low testosterone can have T prescribed for him on the first doctor’s visit. Cis women take estrogen and progesterone routinely, for various reasons. A cis man with gynecomastia (breast growth) can have top surgery just because.
What I mean is it’s not just piercings and horns: Cis people can have actual gender-related medical interventions done any time, and they do have them, and it’s perfectly normal. But when trans people want the same interventions, often to literally save our lives, we have to wait years and jump through countless hoops to convince doctors that we really need it. The same things that cis people can have just like that.
this is an older post, but these procedures are excellent examples of gender affirming care for cis people. with the crack down of access to such care for trans people we are going to see the hypocrisy at a much larger scale OR we will see this card stripped from cis people as well and maybe more cishet people will begin to care?

All righty, my thoughts on Ahsoka!
I think it's okay. I enjoyed watching it, and I like being around the characters again. There are a lot of things that have 'cause for concern' but I'm going to withhold final judgement until I see how it plays out. Filoni is definitely Lucas' Padawan - in that he can't direct actors for shit, pace a scene or write dialogue that feels like something people would actually say.
Things I liked:
Chopper was great, as was his little banter with Hera. And, contrarily to seemingly everyone, I actually like Hera. Yes, she looks like the porn parody version (the flat lighting is not helping), but she does feel like the character, and also a natural evolution of that character as someone who has been both a general and a single parent.
The visuals are actually quite good - couldn't spot any ropey CGI or Volume work so that's a plus.
The story is set up nicely, Morgan works as an effective villain. Baylan and Shin are a bit one-dimensional, but we're two episodes in and I like their vibe.
I liked The Phantom Menace homages. Less enamoured with the homage to it's wooden acting and flat place.
The other galaxy - a neat way of expanding the Universe. Though now my mind is filled with the idea of it being the 40K galaxy, and thus images of Commissar Thrawn and Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Ezra XD

My minor annoyances:
Just do a proper opening crawl for God's sake!
The narrative contrivances were...a bit much. I don't mind one or two, it's Star Wars they're all over the place, but them piling up to get the plot to work was annoying. From the captain 'calling their bluff' by...doing exactly what Baylan wanted instead of, you know, keeping their highly important prisoner safe by not letting them aboard; to a third HK droid just hanging about at Sabine's house, instead of, I don't know, self-destructing and killing everyone in Lothal?
The Imperial infiltrators stuff is starting to grate. Because it could be done well - there's something to be explored in the idea that leading rebellions are different from leading governments, there are different challenges and various ways cynics can take advantage of that and corrupt ideals etc. But the way it's done just makes the New Republic look stupid.
The episode one cliffhanger was daft. We know Sabine's not going to die; and if she's going to get stabbed it should have an actual impact on the plot but bacta means that didn't happen. I can see why they decided on a two-episode premiere as that would have been a really weak ending.
Things with question marks:
Sabine. I don't mind her being a Jedi - feels a bit out of nowhere, but the idea of a non-Force sensitive (or weak Force-sensitive) training to be one, and compensating through other means, sounds fine. But I'm not sure it's something that works for her character. Wanting to learn to better defend Lothal etc. I get, but actually being a Padawan? Seems odd. Especially as we already got this story with the Darksabre arc.
The petulant teenager stuff bothered me when I watched it, but I've mellowed after a friend pointed out that Sabine has had trouble with family. She got denounced by her biological family, then her found family broke up at the end of Rebels. Makes sense that she'd be a bit lonely, cling to Ahsoka looking to recreate that and then react badly when it went wrong. So regressing feels natural, though I'm hoping that's over with now.
I'm not keen on her relationship with Ahsoka. Having them be a failed Master and Apprentice duo feels a bit like trying to force a relationship that didn't exist into being because I don't they exchanged a single word in Rebels. I would have preferred it if they didn't have much of one and their journey together explored their characters.
Ahsoka. She's about what I've come to expect from the recent series. But the Paragon Jedi stuff really doesn't suit her. I don't mind her 'I walked away from Anakin' line - I can see how survivor's guilt would lead to look back on things that way and think 'I could have saved him'. But a pin in it - it'll depend on how this is explored in the show as to whether I come to like or dislike this.
So overall, cautious but not turned off yet.
Turtle and Dork
“This is a robbery!!” are words that often come out of the blue. The presence of a humanoid turtle smashing through the window with those words increased the surrealism exponentially.
My smile froze on my face, chopsticks poised mid-air to point at my girlfriend across the table. The noodles I had been slurping did not freeze, slapping gently onto my chin before I hastily slurped them up, coughing. Ruby, who had half-turned around to look at the disturbance, wheeled back at my coughing, scowl rapidly changing to concern. “You okay, Leia?”
I waved my hand, thumping my chest with the other fist as the turtle barreled through the Chinese restaurant. It was huge, maybe eight feet tall, with stubby hands and feet poking out of a circular shell that ensconced most of its body, giving it an uneven, waddling gait. Other diners were screaming and darting out of the way as it plowed through tables, chairs smashed underfoot and food slapping wetly against the floor. The turtle came to a halt in front of the serving counter, cashier shrinking against the wall, the bobbing light fixture behind him casting a looming shadow over the hapless man.
“That doesn’t look fine.” She reached out, cupping my cheek. “Need me to do anything?”
I shook my head again, working the noodles down my throat as the turtle started shouting again. “You! Give me all the cash in the register!”
“Y-yes!” A mechanical clack was followed by the rattle of coins. “H-here, I have nothing else, I swear!”
“Is that all?!” Out of the corner of my vision, I saw one of the turtle’s clawed fingers glow green and a blip of energy flashed out, searing the wall behind the screaming cashier. “Surely you have more than this?!”
“I-I swear this is all we have!”
My esophagus finally cleared and I got out, “I’m good, just went down the wrong pipe there, I think.”
Her shoulders relaxed slightly. “Are you sure?”
I nodded, in the background hearing the turtle shout, “Surely you have more!! Is this not one of those vile places that serves up my comrades as meals?! Are our lives worth that little to you?!”
“I -” the cashier choked on his words until he offered up a measly, “We don’t serve turtle soup here.”
Ruby sighed. “If you say so.”
I waved my hand. “I’m fine, really, no need to -”
“Don’t bullshit me! Sox News clearly said -”
“Wait.” My girlfriend turned her head around to glare at the interrupting turtle, her hand rising in tune with her hair, streaks of red and silver and blue and yellow and white flashing through each strand in a psychedelic display of color. “You interrupted my date because of some bullshit Sox News spewed?”
“Huh?” The turtle turned angrily, then its eyes widened at the bubbling mass of energy hovering in front of my girlfriend’s palm and the hair lashing out behind her head? “Ai-Ailements?!?! What’re you doing here -”
“Wait -”
My words were cut off as my girlfriend intoned, “Fever Freeze.”
With a rush of cold air, the turtle was instantly ensconced in a layer of ice, its face a picture of befuddlement. The cashier and remaining customers gawked at the new sculpture in the room.
“Rubyyyyyyy.” I rubbed my forehead in exasperation.
Her cold face shook, and she turned to me. “Wait, i-it’s not like I killed him or anything. He’ll thaw out, get a cold, it’ll be okay -”
“People.” I gestured pointedly at the civilians now slowly turning their gaze to the $500,000,000-bounty supervillain sitting in the corner.
“Ah.” She coughed, then twirled her finger. “Amnesia Air.”
A gray mist twirled from her finger, growing monstrously large in an instant before sweeping over the establishment. “Sorry,” she muttered sheepishly. “They’ll forget the past few minutes, nothing more.”
I nodded with satisfaction. “I know it’s not your fault, but don’t go losing your temper and exposing yourself again, all right? You promised no repeat of the Dr. Eutropes situation.”
“I knooooow.” She rubbed her forehead, hair returning to its normal brown shade and settling back onto her shoulders and staring at the half-eaten bowls on the table. “Um, movie, I guess? Your choice, I’ll pay?”
I gave a thumbs up, rifling through my wallet and depositing payment for the food on the table. “Sounds good.”
“You’re not mad?”
I sighed, reached over, and booped her forehead. “I’m not. Dork.”
Her face flushed. “I-I’m not -”
I leaned in and gave her a quick kiss. “D-o-r-k. Now movie, let’s book it before the heroes get here.”
She nodded sheepishly. “Ok.”
We began to tip-toe through the dinner, avoiding the diners standing there listlessly among the fog. “But really, Fever Freeze that leaves them with a cold?” I giggled. “Works perfectly for Ailements, I’d say.”

The story hinges on two romantic relationships that have broken down for Jala, both of whom are women, one she recently broke up with that leads her to go back to her home town and the relationship she fucked up big time in her home down with her former best friend. She battles against her not so evil exes in these RPG style mind palace fights where they resolve their feelings current and former and come to some kind of resolution.

I'm so tired of this, and you know what's worst? Netflix released Warrior Nun, a series with awesome female and queer rep which that has impacted a lot of people at the same time as other bigger shows however they didn't bother too much with the budget and especially didn't bother with promo.
Season 2 aired a week ago, has visibly more quality, has an increasing fandom and has been trending ever since. But we still don't have cast interviews, we didn't have different trailers, we don't have posters or bts videos or bloopers... This is just not fair at all!!!Warrior nun is just destined to fail because the company doesn't care about her own show.
If we get season 3 it's because OF US, the fans and of course the amazing cast and directors who have been fighting with us.
So this is a reminder to STREAM WARRIOR NUN SEASON 2! try to watch as much as you can WITH the volume up (even just a little)! you can have it playing while you do something else like sleep or eating, but pause/interact every once in a while! Keep talking about it on social media, keep making edits, keep recruiting new viewers and encourage them to watch the show.
This is a suicide month for releases on Netflix. But we should keep fighting and being louder than ever before.
And if you're a big fan of the show like I am and feel sad or negative just remember: we don't have to be THE BIGGEST show out there. We just have to keep the views somewhat steady for the next 2-3 weeks.
