Boom, Hero and Lucid in the same room. I love this little freak, he needs therapy but his ass will deny that shit with a rubber stamp. Hero is drawn different bc of the fact this is how Hero sees himself. If I drew Hero in my usual style, he ain’t looking this bright and “normal.”

Anyways, Lucidmare is kind of a coward when he’s faced with a situation that would take a violent turn because he’s like. So over fighting, especially any Dream variant, ESPECIALLY A DREAM THAT’S BEEN DRIVEN INSANE IN SOME WAY AND HAS NO QUALMS WITH KILLING NIGHTMARES IF HE SAW FIT TO. So yeah, Hero would make him scared enough to feel like throwing up, he doesn’t wanna slip up and be seen as “too corrupted” and “not passive leaning enough” by Hero’s point of view.

… tbh, I think if he was scared enough to throw up, Hero would be extra sure he’s passive enough to keep his breathing privileges. Not very heroic to kill someone who is only a threat to himself.

I wanted to draw a teentsy bit of Hero’s actual face. Also consistent character trait of Lucidmare being a soggy, apologetic cat who constantly feels guilty about his past and being slapped in the face with “most people would want you dead” from a variant of Dream just. Extra sad, soggy cat energy. Straight up “yeah, you have the right to put my ass in the dirt.”

Anyways, given how scary and messed up Hero is, I honestly think Lucidmare would be able to see the Dream in him. Genuinely. He knows what it’s like to lose yourself and become someone terrifying, so that’s why I’m invested in this interaction.

the right choice. Hero is going to leave this conversation, pretend he never had it, and immediately jump back into saving-the-day action while beating himself up over the fact he nearly crashed out. Why would he anyways? It was a dumb reason, anyways. He shouldn't listen to his own thoughts, anyways! The last time he did that, he But it doesn't matter because it's all over now and everyone needs their hero so who cares what it thinks? It just wants to drag Hero down and twist it into a bad person and nobody wants that!!! It can't hurt him. It won't ever hurt him again. It didn't know how to be a hero.

Asking because I want to draw him encountering my own un-goopy Nightmare, one that was corrupted before but isn’t anymore.

Does Hero help people within AUs? What truly qualifies as his "duty"? If, say, someone was lost and trying to get to the omega timeline and stumbled across him, would he help, or leave them there? Just how far is he willing to go to avoid companionship....?

His help usually extends to fighting off destroyers and potential threats to the Multiverse, buuuut he’ll also spare time to do other things like help people to CORE Frisk or lend his healing magic to others.

…There’s one other thing he does though.
