like truly and honestly part of what gets me so bad about 1000xresist as a story is like. it's not a story you can break into neat little pieces. it's a tragedy you cannot unweave because there is no one to blame and every single person plays a part in it. it's not quite an inevitable tragedy because so much of it could have gone differently, could have been changed, at SO many turns. but like. it's not a preventable tragedy either. it happened because it happened and the choices were made. and that's the best kind of tragedy, because it's so, so heavy and too close to reality.
