He's in his 20s. Serving 22 yrs because of a stupid decision or lack of impulse control in your 20s is overkill.

I understand he did something wrong and should be charged and all that. However, overreacting during an argument is pretty age appropriate for someone in their 20s. Should he have gone to that extreme? No. He deserves jail time.

However, we can't get time back. You're wishing away 22 yrs of a person's life. If he was white they probably wouldn't even have mentioned what the maximum time he could serve would be.

I understand what you’re saying, this was an impulse decision, a mistake for someone this young, but there are repercussions to your actions.

I do not agree with our prison system, I do think it should be based off of rehabilitation and fixing what has been wrong but I also do not agree that just because someone is young and makes a bad decision they should not be punished for that.

He had no reason to shoot her other than being in his feelings and if he does not get reasonable repercussions for that he is not going to learn anything other than the fact that he shouldn’t get caught next time not he shouldn’t shoot someone next time.
