I havenât finished the third episode of Calamity yet, but something just struck me really hard, so Iâm calling it now (keep in mind I donât know any cr lore):
The Tree of Names is a connection to other planes. Laerynâs been messing with this idea for a while, and she might not know about the tree, but maybe Evandrin got vooshed into, I donât know, the celestial plane and she had something to do with it. So the disappearance of the First Knight of Avalir is a big thing right? How did it not go super public? Loquatious Fucking Seelie, thatâs how. The reporter that got fired got too close to the truth, so he got rid of her. He burned the files she had on the case, he got rid of any connection Laeryn could possibly ever have to Evandrinâs vanishing. I mean, this was probably very obvious from the beginning and I just didnât pay enough attention, but the devils spitting blood when the energy to the Arboreal Caelix was cut and Evandrin being touched by the Tree and spitting blood as well⌠maybe the tree allows creatures from other planes to exist in the material plane if they are not supposed to? Maybe the tree holds the names of creatures like some fey stuff with names and power that I donât know enough to talk about? Maybe this is all about Laerynâs Big Guilt Trip To The Celestial Plane To Rescue My Friendâs Husband That I Accidentally Banished? Who knows!
Also, Laeryn and Loquatious actively being a divorced couple is so funny to me, I donât think any character dynamic can top what they created
Anyway, my prediction is Laeryn Does Big Confession, Zerxus feels super betrayed, Loquatious in the background going âwhy would you tell them that after evERYTHING I DID TO HIDE IT?!â And EVERYONE ELSE going nuts about it.
