Hey y'all I need your help.

I’m not super familiar with running on high school tracks, but if what I’m thinking is somehow correct, then I just ran a mile in 5:17.

Which would be like, over a 3 minute PR, which sounds absolutely impossible. If that was the case I feel like I should be heading to the fucking Crossfit Games.

I don’t run very often and if you’ll recall a few weeks ago I posted about running on this track for the first time and my 400m time was all off from what I was used to running at my box’s (apparently incorrect) 400m route. My best my time EVER was 7:24.

The only things that have changed since I last ran on the track was that I 1) bought actual RUNNING SHOES since the last time I ran in nanos literally fucked up my feet for two weeks afterward and 2) I started running in what I THINK is the 800m Lane (lane number 6)?

My problem is I’ve never run a fucking 5 minute mile in my life so I feel like I did something wrong. Is lane number 6 (pictured above) not actually 800m per lap? I also took a picture of lane number 2 (above) which is 400m which I think is saying that 4x would be a mile?

Something is wrong. So help me figure out what I did wrong because I am not Chris fucking Henshaw. Is every lap the same distance? If so why does it say 800m?!
