Today I finished my course of vancomycin. My stomach has been doing generally significantly better for a few days now, so I really hope that this is the end of my c. diff infection.

I got the infection from being on clindamycin after my surgery, and it's thought that the bout of food poisoning I had right before the infection was also a factor somehow. Something something bacteria piggybacking. But because of the surgery and recovering from it, plus food poisoning, plus a multiweek c. diff infection, I have been having a pretty Bad Time since the middle of May.

Technically I'm still recovering from the surgery, in that the sites haven't fully healed and will take more months on top of the months it's already been. But I really really hope I'm starting to be in the clear from being actually sick and feeling like I'm dying.

I don't feel 100% better yet, but I mean, I only finished the medicine today, so. To be expected I suppose.

Another unfortunate part of this though is that my neurologist recommends that I delay my Kesimpta dose a bit this month, to give my immune system a chance to re-strengthen itself in the wake of the c. diff. I am already prone to a "crap gap" in between Kesimpta doses so I'm sure that won't be the most fun thing, but. It is what it is. It sure would be a bad idea to knock out my B-lymphocytes when they have an actual job to do here.
