starling
sketch that I finished during the history of sociology class
Garden eels lost the sticker design poll for my club BUT I had the urge to finish that sketch anyways... love these guys! They're so fun to watch in person

I haven't written a suicide note but once as a kid I sprayed deodorant on my vagina and it hurt so bad that I wrote a goodbye letter to my family, assuming I'd be dead by morning
I was looking through my inbox to see messages I forgot to answer and this one hit me like a truck. Thank you so much for telling me this

unicorn sticker sheet!
Fun fact: for some reason men that compare themselves to golden retrievers on hinge do NOT like being told “bark for me dog”
They don’t like this
I FOUND IT THANK GOD this video is so important
This is real and here is the patent. Nonconsensual data collection is detailed in column #4 on page 17.
i fucking LOVE this dude (FLESH SIMULATOR is the name of his accounts). all of his videos are full of information and tips like this, and he always has loud industrial tone music mixed poorly over him speaking to make it impossible to create a clean AI copy of his voice.
I gotta stay off tumblr while I'm crossfaded some of the images you people show me could drive a man to madness

“My thesis is that at many levels of human interaction there is the opportunity to conflate discomfort with threat, to mistake internal anxiety for exterior danger, and in turn to escalate rather than resolve.” (from Conflict Is Not Abuse by Sarah Schulman. highly recommend it if you’re interested in having better dialogues and feeling less defensive in your life)
I mean this in the kindest way possible, but if you want to draw OCs/do a lot of original work, you must accept that most people are not going to care about them. Like, at all. This is not a negative thing and is in fact the normal way of the world. If you want people to care about your stuff, you have to MAKE them care!
Like, you can have the coolest idea for a character, but the character that people see isn't the one in your head - it's the one you draw and show to them. People get more invested if you're able to "present" your ideas well. It's how most stories work, and in general, I think a lot of artists would benefit from thinking more like writers in this regard!
Yeah like as smn who has been posting original work for the last 7 going 8 years now, you'd be surprised how curious people can be if you present them with a glimpse into a story.
Art of characters interacting, pieces that capture a very specific moment, etc—give them a taste of something to chew on that makes them go "oh what's that about, is there more context to this?" as opposed to just simple isolated art of your characters not really doing anything, and people will be interested.
Even if you don't have much of a story! Vague and evocative works incredibly well.
