The Kudi Show

Greetings!

It’s been a while but here is a video that is a little continuation from the show we did in the past about F***boys (listen to it here!).

Question: Who’s going to make this app though? 

I’m entirely obsessed with these sweet croissants. I admit with guilt, that I probably have at least two a day, (and I know that can’t be healthy). But they are totally common place here in Cafes, and the cafe culture here in Buenos Aires is huge.You’ll see many Argentine sitting leisurely in a cafe over a cup of coffee and some kind of pastry on the side. 

My first week here I really wanted to get a taste of cafe life here in Buenos aires, so not knowing anyone at the time I walked into a small cafe alone and ordered a cup of cafe con leche with a medialuna on the side. I was completely clueless on the etiquette of ordering a cup of coffee in Buenos Aires. I wouldn’t have felt so embarrassed about my  first time if I had known:

1) The baristas bring  your coffee to your seat. 

2) you usually don’t pay until the end

3) you’ll always get a complimentary sparkling water on the side

This is Kiara announcing that The Kudi Show will indeed be returning in the fall! Just unfortunately not on WMBC.UMBC.EDU (UMBC’s freeform radio station), because Udi and I are in South America. I’m in Barranquilla, Colombia, while my dearest friend Udi is in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

Udi and I haven’t been posted much since school let out and that was due to the stress of studying abroad but now we’re both in our respective countries, kiiiinda settled in and ready to share our experiences as two carefree Black girls abroad (trying to survive on struggle spanish)!

We’ve decided to post small things/tidbits weekly as to not spoil our study abroad experience with The Kudi Show maintaince but we will do a monthly Kudi Show-Show to catch everyone up and hopefully entertain you for an hour.

Hey friends, 

Kiara here and I’m doing what we promised, which is update this tumblr and make posts and whatnot. 

Udi and I are very happy that the semester has ended. We both have relatively good grades. We’re both trying to leave the country for Fall 2016 study abroad and life is still very stressful. Udi’s application is due this month. Mine isn’t due until March so one of us is more stressed than the other. 

I’m trying to start the new year off on a positive note. I shaved my head in December and I’m trying to do another radical physical change to combat the anxiety I have for life in general. If you have any ideas I’ll take them. For now I’ll leave this song and I hope you enjoy it. Matt Corby is one of my favorite artists and I’ve been jamming out to this song for a good minute. I’ll be seeing him on the 31st and I will post about it after I recover.
