If you’re a Keitai or Akai owner then buckle up for some good news! The Keitai Tamagotchi was known for it’s mobile communication dating back to 2004 and the popularity of infrared connectivity in these devices in the Asian market. The application that was loaded to your phone may have disappeared since 2004, but thanks to a dedicated fan it’s unofficially back.

The application Keitai application was limited to Japan and was of course only in the Japanese language. Debutchi on Reddit along with the folks over at Keitai Archive have brought the application back to life and publicly available for download.

It requires downloading a Windows application, Keitai World Launcher, and once installed you’ll have access to Tamagotchi Park which is the name of the English patched Keitai game that has been unofficially brought back from 2004!

There are two modes, “Mailbox Mode” allows you to visit the Shopping Center and receive a randomly generated item from the respective tier to purchase on your Keitai.

You can also make a Parent Video Call to an adult form the previous generation where they can share an allowance with you, or visit the Gotchi King’s Castle, where if you make at least 1,000 Gotchi Points donation, then the King will visit your Keitai Tamagotchi and leave behind Super Unchi-kun to clean up after your Tamagotchi’s poop!

“Travel Mode” will allow you to select between “Travel Memories” or “Exchange Plaza”. Travel Memories allows your Tamagotchi to visit one of six different locations using a travel ticket. Simply download the ticket on your Keitai Tamagotchi using the heart icon, then mailbox, then password. Enter the password you receive on your device.

The Exchange Plaza allows users to exchange between seven different regions that each have their own unique regional items and foods. These items were previously only available through Tamagotchi Deka devices that were setup in Japanese retail stores dating back to 2004.

This thing has been out of print for like, 26 years and some of us want to make chubby classic pikachu so uh... I figure it's okay to share bc it's kinda hard to get your hands on the remaining physical copies.

so i was looking at handheld virtual pets online and this one is truly like nothing else, I can't really find much info or photos other than this one seller and a youtube video but I'm obsessed with this children's toy?

"This virtual pet is in the shape of a sake bottle and features an alcoholic character. It gives you the option to choose male or female. The objective is to feed them wine/shots/beer and snacks until they throw up and pass out. Afterwards you can cure them water, coffee, or medicine, and play games. If you can keep them as a well balanced alcoholic, the health meter will be full!"

Learning The Ropes

I'm no expert, I'm still learning myself. But one thing I can tell you: HTML isn't as hard to learn as it may seem on the outside! I was originally very hesitant to dive in because of ADHD and other things, but I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to pick up on stuff through a mix of reading tutorials and trying things on my own. Dive in!!

W3Schools: The ULTIMATE resource when it comes to this stuff, you NEED W3schools in your life! They have easy to understand resources like tutorials, which usually come with editable live examples so you can understand what changing one part of the code would do. Resources are available for HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQL, etc!

Free Templates

Sadgrl's Layout Builder: A browser layout builder that lets you somewhat customize a layout for your Neocities! And of course, you can then edit it and further customize your site.

PetraPixel's Layout Generator: A layout maker with lots of accessibility options and a very clean interface.

Wikitable: Comprehensive and fun layout to make a pseudo-Wiki page in HTML!

44x50: A user who's made a really awesome Wiki-style template for storing information about your OCs and has more templates on the way.

Templaterr: Some great and very basic layouts, excellent for learning as you go.

Eggramen: A bunch of CSS stylesheets with simple HTML test pages. Has layouts for some specific types, too, like fanlistings, webcomics, etc.

Rarebit: The most popular free layout for a Neocities webcomic, and for good reason! It's really good.

Repth's Themes: A whole bunch of great layouts.

Angel's Layouts: Some layouts and then some simple base codes.

Almost Sweet: Sweet templates!

Neothemes: 2 free layouts.

Adilene: Several cute and compact layouts for Neocities, along with other code bits.

Zonelets: A simple and free engine for a blog.

MyRoom: Super cute simple layout with a calendar.

Silly Space: Aesthetic 2 sidebar site layout.

Teppy's Layouts: Several really aesthetically pleasing layouts.

Theme-Hunter is intended for Tumblr theme and page codes, but the vast majority of page codes can be used off Tumblr and will look pretty nice! (Not any pages which inherently depend on Tumblr of course, like all-in-ones and following pages.) Just make sure to read any TOS provided by the code's creator, as some people specifically don't want their codes used for this, some explicitly allow it, etc.

#html and #neocities: Tags on my blog for HTML templates and Neocities templates/resources I've reblogged.

Codepen: A site for people to share and show off their projects in various languages. Not everything is free to take, but a lot of it is. Check the licenses/description and stuff, and you can find some really interesting website templates and code snippets. It also comes with a browser code editor to let you test things live. (I made a list of some of my favorites once.)Sadgrl's Webmaster Resources: Huge list of useful resources.

Loveberry: Borders, a calendar, and other code snippets.

PetraPixel's Widgets: Last.fm and Status.cafe snippets.

Createblog: A vintage free layout website which is still up as of 2025, but doesn't seem to have been updated since 2012. You can find free HTML and CSS layouts from 2009-2012, and the majority of them could totally still be used, but you need to know a tiny bit of HTML so you can understand how to increase the size of things to make it accessible and sized for a modern day resolution, along with any other small tweaks it may need. I've used layouts from here a couple times and fixed them up on my own and found it very fun.

These are adorable and a first! Bandai Gashapon has just announced Tamagotchi Light Mascots which will soothe you with a faint glow. It features an on/off switch and the batteries can be replaced. These come in four styles, which are Mametchi on a couch reading a book, Kuchipatchi sitting on a tree stump holding an apple, Chestnut angel riding a duck, and Mimitchi popping out of a Tamagotchi Original held up by a cloud.

Another Tamagotchi Connection password! Bandai has recently shared out on social media and the official Tamagotchi website the password for the drum item! You’ll see a super cute animation when your Tamagotchi is using it!
