An era of postwar restoration and the bright young things of society.  In Soho, a receptionist working after hours in a newsroom obscured by smoke stubs out her cigarette on an envelope. Voices of men and their staccato typewriters sound in the next room.  The envelope catches fire, and she lights a fresh stick from the flame. Someone steps into a jazz club in Piccadilly.  Amidst the intoxication and ceaseless crowds, hands and bodies meld into each other. They kiss the latest poisons from the mouths of others. It is still not enough.  An antiquarian sits in his manor in the suburbs, surrounded by the shadows of macabre paintings and the cawing of crows at high windowsills. A pen scratches against a diary… and writes… and writes…

but if anyone does happen to have any spare money thats like.. not going to buying you/your family/your animals' food and livelihood etc, would you consider maybe cashapping me a little bit of it? explanation following (TLDR at the end)

in about 6 hours from writing, me and my [current] roommate have the inspection of our apartment that decides on if we get our security deposit returned when we move out soon, and I am not feeling confident about our passing it

up until a couple months ago I wouldve been like yeah easy we're getting that money back, we literally haven't damaged anything in the apartment everything was fucked before we got there and I put it on the list but recently my roommate decided spray painting his bedroom wall was a good idea and, given exactly one week to prepare for this inspection, I have had no spare money or time to get the tools required to properly cover it up (and from what I could tell he made no attempt himself and ik he has nearby friends that regularly drive him around and a couple hundred dollars in tip cash) the best I was able to do is get a quart of paint that ended up being the wrong color and try to cover it up using a rag to apply it to the wall (I literally Just got rid of all my old unused art supplies) and over the course of like 5 hours my end result is in my opinion barely even mid, and my roommate decided to lower the lights in the room and go to sleep(somewhat fair, he had a long day) while I was doing that so I couldnt Really see the end result Too Well nor actually what I was doing for the last hour. I forgot where that was going idk point is the job is shotty the spray paint has inexplicably created indentations in the wall so even layering paint until the color is gone its still visible where the markings are and like I said the color doesn't match so you can tell that like third of the wall was painted really poorly, and I'm pretty sure we are not getting that security deposit back

unfortunately for me specifically, getting the security deposit returned is what is enabling my parents to help me pay the initial fees needed to move into my New place, and if I don't get that deposit money in a month I can't pay them back and if I can't pay them back then they can't afford to give me the money and I won't be able to cover it on my own which means I won't even be able to get into the new apartment so me and my cat will just be homeless I think? I may have some possible options of people to stay with temporarily but I have no transportation so I wouldn't be able to get to my job from any of those places

TLDR if we fail this inspection tomorrow, which is likely, i will not have enough money be allowed to move myself and my cat into our new apartment, so if anyone wants to help me out in any way I would greatly appreciate it, I can't really offer commissions or anything in return it would just be like extremely helpful and I would be grateful
