I love the way my Kiddo's brain works. (If you don't like slightly mushy stories, stop reading now, but it made my week, so I'm putting it out there.) My kiddo Joscelyn was named after my mom, Joyce, a strong, witty woman that I wanted her to carry along with her throughout her life. And she did. Those two were as thick as thieves, and taught each other much, each sharing the best of themselves and their eras with the other. Jos taught Gma technology and how to dance to hip hop, while Grandma shared her worldly wisdom and infinite capacity for compassion. It's been a really sorrowful (read crappy) week for all of us since we lost Mom, but Kiddo put her own special stamp on things with a very personalized memorial to that woman she respected, adored and loved so much in the form of a special piece of art. Jos took a part of Mom's signature, had it blown up and had it tattooed on her foot last night, because Grandma kept her grounded, helped us teach her to stand on her own two feet - and shared much JOY. I do indeed love that my girl selected something so special and meaningful to continue carrying Mom along with her - every single step of the way. I really love this - I do.
