He was the last one alive. Traumatised, everything gone, ripped away from him and so he fled deeper, further into the ocean where he’d always been told to avoid. Soon the water became darker until it was pitch black and his lungs were so suppressed its like someone is sitting right on his chest.

His time here is spent defending himself whilst his body changes and adapts bit by bit, making him blend in, a defensive mechanism in a way to ensure he survives. Its..rare for a mermaid to turn, to become their sister species that is much more viscous and unforgiving.

In time, Leon has turned. Gone are the shiny scales he once had, they’re a darker blue now ,and where he had soft fins he now has sharper ones that he could use as a weapon if he wanted to. His fingernails aren’t rounded anymore- they’re dangerous, made to kill and so are his rows of teeth.

The main difference is that he is hungry all the godamn time and the fish that float around him aren’t cutting it anymore so he sees no choice but to venture near the surface of the water. Its been..god its been ages, now its like the brightness and the oxygen are too much for him.

He deals with it.

When he peeks his head out of the water he see’s something floating on the water, a boat, wooden and well equipped with weapons to kill, a flag too with a symbol of a creature he doesn’t know of (its a wolf). They’re humans, he knows that much and well human means..food for Sirens so he constructs a plan.

Hes gonna lure them out here somehow or pull them overboard one by one. Theres a few people on the boat, shouldn’t be too hard.

Fuck the big ones gonna be a problem though.. (or will he?? also yes its Chris, Chris is the captain)

-They adopted Rose obviously, thats their daughter right there but she doesn’t call either of them dad, its just made sense if she called them by their names as she was growing up.

-Chris always does this thing where whenever Leon returns from missions or even long periods of time, he slides his hands and arms around his waist and just holds him. His face tucked into his neck breathing him in.

-Chris . snores . so . loud. — Leon sleeps through it completely unfazed

-Both decent cooks but i wanna say Chris is better at it

-Chris kissing Leons top surgery scars or tracing them softly with his thumb

-Leons wakeup fit okay is always consistent of: Tank top, boxers, socks, robe not even tied, just completely open. Like he properly woke up at 10am he really dont give a fuck since he had a hard night beforehand.

-BOTH HAVE SUUCH A SWEET TOOTH. They take cream with coffee, they eat sugary cakes and pastries as treats. Chris literally has travel sweets in his jeep that Leon sworee he didn’t want any of but now…now hes just taking em.

Same with the Porsche, theres sweets there too.

-Both are affectionate. Cuddles all the time, kisses, head pats, you name it, they like being basically glued to eachother.

-Leon stares down at his ring sometimes just in happiness that this is what hes making of a life, he has a family. Hes also the father that records everything: birthdays, Christmas, halloween when Rose first goes trick or treating 😭💕

-Leon despises being cold okay. Its so uncomfortable for him and he is bundled up under covers during winter.

-They watch the late night gameshows together after Rose has been put to bed. They just lean against eachother on the couch watching one, playing along until its midnight and one of them is asleep and drooling a bit. It’s usually Leon that falls asleep first tbh, it finds him easily when he’s so happy and safe with his husband.

-Chris reallyyy wants them to have a dog

The “struggle” Chris must have living with Leon….his husband making occasional groans and grunts when he moves around because body aches are starting to catch up on him. Its quite bearable tbh but still Chris just has to grip his own thigh to stay composed sometimes.
