everyone giving "im right your wrong" energy is exactly why this fandom is such a toxic space and why these characters and ships take up such an unhealthy space in your brain
i understand being fixated on something but being so deeply obsessed with it that it can send you into a depression is not healthy. like byler not being canon should not have caused depression.
i think the reason for this though this that to enjoy these ships you HAVE to be dedicated because if you're not the community itself will push you out. bylers on this blog already talk about how if you aren't completely solely dedicated to byler you aren't a "real byler". and milevens have such anti-queer spaces that are hard to avoid depending on the platform, or at least spaces where multishipping isn't allowed, so to be accepted you HAVE to be a mileven only.
to be in these fandoms you HAVE to be obsessed or you're the odd one out, and once you are surrounded by people who enforce and justify this behavior it will negatively affect you because all of a sudden this is a part of your identity. not in a silly fun way, but you are a "byler" or "mileven" in your life and whatever happens in that community greatly affects you, even if it shouldn't.
the real issues is that nobody in this space has NUANCE. to understand that both ships have their pros and cons and to understand that you dont HAVE to be dependent on these ships is what should be the standard, but it isn't. that's why yall are so unhealthy about these things. you cant take a step back and look at how unecessary or delusional you guys are being.
