Emerald Ghoul

“Hmm? Oh, you’re not being a bother at all. I was looking for some fun anyway.” This guy had unluckily stumbled upon the most dangerous woman in the world… Though with what she was capable of, perhaps he actually was lucky… especially with what she had in mind. She’d saunter over, her hips quite hypnotic in their motions as she’d stretch her leg behind her, holding it in place with her hands. “The name’s Juri. You’re pretty cute… You could use some more meat on your bones though.”

“What sort of fun? I’m more so looking for a place to stay, a hotel of sorts”

She led the way to the Staff Only door, and pulled it open. After all, the break room wasn’t the only thing behind it. Touka herself resided here, along with other ghouls. It honestly was a refuge here, and it was her home now. She gestured for him to follow her. “It’ll be safe to talk here.”

❝ Well, I’m a ghoul as you know and I came from Germany, things were tough there too apparently..❞

She nodded, turning to go. “Well, I’ll come back for you after.” She returned to making her rounds, serving other customers. About five minutes till her shift ended, she headed back up to her apartment to change out of her uniform. A few minutes later, she had returned to Kris’s table. “Okay, ready to go?”

Sure, he’s been here for a long time, but that also didn’t mean he was one-hundred percent safe here. There were still angles of this ward he had never seen before. Paying and tipping generously, he got up and followed close by.

          “You should probably choose your location a little better.” She shook her head with a sigh. Maybe he was just new to the ward.

His blunt tone replied to the female’s response as he sighed. Honestly he had no idea what she was talking about. Apparently this was someone’s ‘spot’ ? Well, he never heard of such a thing before. 

“All right. Nice to meet you, Kris.” She turned, knowing she had stayed here too long already. “I’ll get your coffee now. My shift ends in thirty minutes, so you can just stay here, if you want.” She left for a few minutes, brewing his coffee and then returning with the steaming cup. “Here you go.”

❝Much better. Thank you ❞

“It’s fine. Things are just… more dangerous here.” He was definitely a foreigner by the sounds of his accent, but she couldn’t quite tell from where. She wasn’t sure how it was different for ghouls outside of Tokyo, much less Japan. Still, she couldn’t just leave him be to run reckless through the 20th ward and attract more doves. This was part of Anteiku’s job. “Yeah, sure. I’m Touka Kirishima, by the way.”

❝After work, we can talk about more matterrs that .. Like you said shouldn’t be talked about here.. ❞ 

Yeah, just like she figured—but she didn’t expect him to be so blunt about it. Usually ghouls were a bit more cautious. “Well, you’ll fit right in, all right. Just… I’d be a bit more careful about what you say around here.”

❝After you’re done working here-think you could help me out?. ❞

“…Well.” She paused, choosing her words carefully. If he was indeed a new ghoul in the area, he needed to know, but she couldn’t let a regular human in on the secret. It was always like this, and finding the right words could be difficult. “Anteiku is perfect for those with… different tastes.”

Unlike this girl who seemed to be beating around the bush, and probably for good reason, Kris knew what he was and wasn’t really afraid to admit to it. So saying something like that would raise some red flags. But he did pick up on some hints she was giving him.

She jotted it down, taking note that he was new and didn’t order anything else.. “All right. You must not be from around here, I take it.” Because if he was a ghoul in the 20th ward… he would know.

❝ This is actually the first coffee place I’ve been to as well..❞

“Welcome to Anteiku. What can I get you?”

Let’s face it, Kris obviously wasn’t all that good at ‘acting human’. He was so damn thirsty right now and he should have ordered something to eat to outweigh the suspicion.
