Using OCs with pre existing lore in BG3 could create some sudden twists, even when you don't expect it
- SPOILERS BELOW -
So, I'm using two pre existing OC's as both my Durge and my dream guardian.
Yami Vi Krichevskoy - Durge:
A vampires/demoness witch with chaotic tendencies bordering evil
Nakira Winterknight - Dream Guardian.
Yami's best friend and head maid.
The campaign started with the idea of a true evil run, but as the story went up slowly turned into a redemption Durge run as I was basing things heavily on either the pre existing character of Yami of development she'd logically make
.
UNTIL the final fight, atop the Netherbrain.
Having sided with Orpheus and thus fighting the Emperor atop the Netherbrain, him Conjuring the dream guardians had some... Interesting lore applications for Yami and thus the ultimate choice of destroy or control.
Having to fight and kill the dream guardian, regardless of if it's truly Nakira or not, would have broken Yami's spirit, broken her will to be redeemed and ultimately led to her change of mind, betraying Orpheus and taking control of the Netherbrain instead.
This was such a cool twist for me personally!
