Kiki/Late 20s (shocking, I know)/Mostly a cluster of fandoms (mine and my friends' mostly), nostalgia (in spurts), and funny (your definition may vary) stuff...If you can put up with all of this nonsense, then I applaud you, good sir, madam, or whoever/whatever you identify as. Please read the About Me/Guidelines before interacting!
I know I've got the links in the pinned post, buuut I figured I'd just do a seperate post, too.
*Click to enlarge each one if difficult to read*
*All characters featured in examples belong to their respective/rightful owners*
Some additional things to please keep in mind:
If I take on your commission, payment must take place and be confirmed first before I begin working.
The speed at which I will be getting it done is going to vary, especially since I will be starting school soon. I may be able to do it in one go in one or two days, or maybe 1 to 2 weeks. Please allow up to two weeks for them to be done. If there has been a major life update on my end that will slow my progress beyond that 2 weeks, I will send you a note. Please do not continuously message me (as in "once a day") about progress. *FOR COMICS AND GROUP PICS: Please allow up to 1 month (up to 2 months with the group one) as these take a lot longer.
The commission request and characters may be yours, yes, but the art itself is mine. If you go around claiming the art is yours, edit it in any way, use it for NFTs/AI, or take out the watermark, you will be blocked and will be blacklisted from having more commissions done by me. If you post your finished piece on your dA or other social media profile, PLEASE credit me.
Regardless of whether or not your idea falls into the category of stuff I WON'T do, I reserve the right to say no at any time.
If I say that I can't draw a character or something, that means I cannot draw it. Whether it's because I've tried drawing it/them repeatedly and can't get the style down, my art skills are not that well-developed, I don't have the space/manpower, etc. I am willing to compromise, however ("substitute character A for character B", "okay how bout location B instead of A", "I may not be able to draw a pony, but I can try humanizing them OR drawing a cutie mark if you need one?", and stuff like that).
My style heavily mimics the KND one, yes, BUT! In terms of content, it's NOT limited to only doing stuff from the series/OCs from the series. Feel free to ask! I may have to do a liiiittle bit of research if I'm not familiar with the series, but that's fine.
Any other questions; feel free to DM ^^.

Mostly health talk (partially mine, partially a family member’s) below the “read more”, so if you don’t wanna deal with it or read my rambling, you’re free to skip.
To start: I myself am okay.
Apparently right after my birthday, my energy level took a sudden nosedive, and it’s taking a bit to get back to my normal. Could maybe be the heat (we’ve been under an Extreme Heat Warning for the past week or so)? Or at least it may be factoring in somehow. Short excursions and being sunzapped. Thank goodness for AC 😅
I do have another round of doc appointments coming up over this and next- one I’ve been kinda playing phone tag with (hematology; ya girl is, aaah…iron deficient. Pretty dang bad), one I’m waiting on results from (ASD testing). Definitely gotta do bloodwork this month, which is fun when you’re a difficult stick (tiny, sideways angle, and rolling, woooooo. Even with hydration 😂).
Now comes the more serious bit.
My mom, through some testing for a different issue (one-sided sensorineural hearing loss), was discovered to have a meningeoma . A large one- at least by length.
The good news so far- it appears to be/have been very slow growing, it’s smooth-edged, and she is otherwise asymptomatic (not too sure if the one sided hearing loss factors in? It’s right between both hemispheres and near her right frontal lobe).
The “Eeeeh?” news: Since her veins decided to pull a “me” (as in, “no, up yours”) when they wanted to do a CT Scan with Contrast, she has to do another one of those, as well as an MRI to see if there’s any bony involvement. She has an appointment for both next week, as well as a surgical consult next week.
The worrying news: Regardless of results, the solution does seem to be heavily leaning towards surgery. Gamma Knife Radiosurgery is potentially an option, but given its size, it’d have to be over several sessions…so traditional surgery is probably going to be the outcome.
With my dad’s passing almost 6 years ago, the “family medical person” role has fallen to me (there’re a few in the family, my husband included; I’m just the most “available”, lolol. Not that I mind! I like helping).
Here’s the crux, though: school starts back up for me in a couple of weeks. And I am on the complete other side of the country. With my journey with nursing school entering its fifth year (two restarts due to health emergency the first time and admin completely screwing me over the second. The program itself is literally a little under two years 🙃), I cannot afford to delay again- especially since my husband also starts this semester as well (pre-med).
We don’t have a confirmed surgery date yet; hell- even with the size, they might just go the “watch and wait” route, given she’s asymptomatic.
But the fact that that’s weighing on me a bit is…not exactly helping my energy and anxiety levels (I’ve gotten past the “worry spiral” from the initial news). There was a bit of anger/“excuse-a fuckin’-me??” as well; obviously not at my mother, but towards other family members, as one’s immediate response was “yOu nEED to cOme bAcK foR a Bit”…
One- I’m not 21 anymore; my schedule is NOWHERE NEAR as open as it was.
Two- I have school. I NEED to finish this last pre-requisite. I CANNOT keep delaying. Hell, there’s still going to be a gap in starting since nursing school applications open in February and they don’t start making their determinations til like…July. IIRC.
Three- Unless you’re (them, not you guys) going to be paying for my flights and whatnot, and you talk to my professors, I CAN’T. We’re operating on ONE steady income right now (husband’s. I have my occasional commissions).
Do I feel guilty? Absolutely. That’s my mom, shes the only parent I’ve really got left, she’s potentially going to need me, and I still need her. 🩷🥲 But logistics right now say I can’t be there when I want to be.
We do have other family members that are closer and do have the ability to help out, and I did say that I can be available via FaceTime to say hi, check on her, and whatnot, thankfully. She won’t be alone, my brother will be there…but he is not one of the more medically aligned folks, and he is also on the spectrum. Not that that absolves him from anything, he can do a lot, just…knowing him, I know he wouldn’t be able to do much on top of making sure she’s resting and feels alright.
…soooo yeah. Lots of stuff going on. Thinking positive, and taking things as they come. Activity here may be a bit slow. Commissions are going to be open, but the “bigger” ones, I might severely limit for a bit.
If you got through all that, thank you 🩷
TL;DR: I’m exhausted, school starts up soon, wave of doc appointments coming up, my mom has what’s essentially a brain tumor (“tumor lite”, she call it, given a lot of signs point towards benign and she is asymptomatic), going through the motions for treatment (“watch and wait” vs surgery), logistics for travel and inability to because of timing suck (no official date for anything yet), there’s a lot that’s still up in the air.

Another exchange between @kndkid96 and me! The adorableness multiplies!!
Thank you so much to @kndkid96 for having this exchange with me! I really enjoyed drawing comics and my characters! I hope we can pick this up again next July!! <3
Thanks so much again for the little back and forth!! I’m totally down for picking this up next ArtFight (might do some little doodles in between now and then?? But for sure, we can continue this next year!)

They say that once you hit the big 3-0, the Ibuprofen Fairy visits you on your birthday, and grants you one of those bottles with 500 pills in it - to accommodate for all your new aches and pains 😂😂😂
