"Dolce far Niente" is an Italian and one of my favorite saying which means "the sweetness of doing nothing". It does not mean being lazy, it’s the idea of finding pleasure in relaxation. The ability to completely enjoy and savor a moment.

we are all very lonely and desperate for friendship i dont think you will really embarrass yourself by unabashedly seeking it out. i think you will find many other people are also looking for it. people will gravitate towards you if you just let them. its going to be fine

and by all that i mean go out regularly join clubs text people first (new or old/distant friends) and ask them to hang out with you. dont just day dream about it. my working theory is that we are all nervous and stir crazy from isolation and that we can find some comfort in that and use it to our advantage. ok?

oh to be a star besides another connected by an intangible yet imperishable thread that forms such a phenomenal bond that gets to be called a constellation.

don’t let this world’s obsession with youth rob you of the big and small joys of adulthood. i spent most of my teenage years and early twenties struggling with my mental health. but there’s no timeline for happiness. for many people, getting older and growing up means having more chances to redefine their values, find their path and stability in life. some people go to college in their forties. some people marry in their sixties. some people recover better after their thirties. there’s no timeline for this kind of stuff. your childhood and teenage years won’t be the only chance you have at experiencing freedom and joy.
