And I like to imagine transformers fuel stomach in two ways - one that is formed from collection of tubes, tightly wrapped to keep everything (liquid included) inside until it is processed and injested.

Second one is like a metal box that has few sections connected with soft rubber material. Both have faint light, very faint, hardly providing any light to see propperly, but not in total darkness. Depending on type of stomach it will be cushioned, or hard and the smell would be a mix of gas station and mechanic smell, like an overworked blender, but not that strong.
