I don't get why Sean's arrival in season 8 was needed
For me the point of season 6's final was that Fiona finally chose change. If it was in season 1 before all of her character development, she would choose her emotions, she would pick the chaos that life with a drug addict will get her. But she didn't. She was in in love with Sean and she still chose to break all contact with him after knowing he's back on drugs. Yes, of course the disappointment caused by his betrayal took part in her decision, but the main symbolism was showing she was not that girl anymore. She didn't want another Frank, she wanted to make something of herself, to be better.
He is an addict and if we follow the fictional logic in the entire series, him relapsing was not something as evil as it was portrayed in this particular situation. So she leaving him didn't really ruin his character – it gave Fiona's character development more depth without crippling him.
Maybe I just like Sean a lot so I'm too biased but I personally don't think this arrival in s8ep4 was either natural or necessary.
Firstly, it was made clear that his child is a massive priority of his. After it was leaked in front of Will that Sean is using again, his mother wouldn't be so happy to leave her child with his drug using dad. So, may be too much of a speculation of course, but the things we know about Sean show us he'll do his best to get clean again so he can see his son. His priority would be to not get emotionally invested with anyone so it doesn't mess with his rehab. And if he gets a girlfriend, I think the period of him being in love with Fiona, possibly losing his child, getting clean again, finding a new person, falling in love again, marrying and going back to his ex to apologize all in the span of a year and some months feels a bit unnatural and unbelievable. Another thing is that he consistently showed care towards Fiona's emotions so showing up that selfishly to tell her he's married and using her for his rehab journey doesn't really go well with his character in my opinion. And even if all of this happened despite my concerns, why was his arrival necessary? It didn't give anything to the plot, it just ruined an interesting complex character by making him act like he proposes to every woman in his life. It made it seem like the connection between him and Fiona wasn't that special or important, which makes their break up less valuable. Kind of ruined the great concept of her choosing herself over the destructive choices we make for love.
Thoughts?
P.S tried to fact-check myself if the "under 2 Years" timeline is right. Turns out this show's idea of time is full of shit. We can still assume it's around a year and a half between s6ep12 and s8ep4. Give or take a few months.
Having a thought so autistic even Tumblr wouldn't get it.
That man did not commit before keeping his promise to Thirteen.
MY TAKE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE HP FANDOM AND WHY I STRONGLY DISLIKE IT
The Hary Potter franchise became a popculture phenomenon in the past two and a half decades. The most popular books of the century, whatever you want to call it. It has great value as a fiction and I can't help but to say that I'm extremely disappointed in the fandom that I've been apart of for approximately half my life. Every good fiction that is as widely available is turned to a massive perversion and I hate it with all my heart and soul. Can you just write and draw your disgusting porn using another names, it doesn'tmake any sense to use well-written characters that have nothing to do with your porn story for your pedophilia fantasies? Can't you just use (sigh but I have to say her name) Rowling's universe, credit her for that, and use another names? Why on Earth would you show an ACTOR (A REAL PERSON?) a fanfic about the character that he played many years ago being the MASTER OF A YOUNG GIRL WHO HAPPENS TO BE PLAYED BY A FRIEND OF HIS? Can we stop normalizing that because it's not and it shouldn't be normal?
I don't even want to start with the marauders fandom (at least in tiktok) and what it turned into. It started with snupin, jily, blackinnon. Why the fuck would Barty be with Rosier? Why on Earth would Sirius and Snape date ever? I know y'all want representation but you really think Regulus is trans? There's absolutely ZERO indication he ever felt uncomfortable in his body. You really think Sirius, borderline insane Sirius, bitter and bad ass as fuck, riding motorcycles, bullying and humiliating racists, biggest rebel in the series, has naked women on the wall Sirius would be the cutie patootie, dresses in a skirt overfeminine guy? Headcanons are cool when you don't have enough information and decide to fill the gaps on your own, not to absolutely dismiss everything. At this point you are not trying to develop their story but you are making up absolutely different people. You just use the names. You abounded the idea you started for - that you love the characters and would like to know more about them, that you see qualities you admire or find interesting in them. It ruins the whole concept. Years ago, it was fun to fill the gaps, to write what you think'd happen in their era but now it feels like it's out of control and not in a good way.
I'm with open hands for discussion.

So I was at a party (a real one) and I started talking to a friend of mine (a real person) about House md and then she drops "i' was rooting for House and Cameron so hard". I thought you guys are all rage baiters, not real people but that's just me.
And my friend is super sweet and nice all the time but WHY girl WHY
I love the House M.D fandom, Chase killed a dictator and y'all think the moral dilemma here is about kissing a dying 9-year-old girl in a absolutely non-sexual way.
I, 16 years of age, can officially say that I spent half my life arguing with rage baiters in different fandoms that I specialized in
yk I didn't really love the cameron liking house arc (though I still think it serves its purpose decently) but it becomes infinitely funnier to me if you add in my hc that s1-3 chase absolutely also thought house was hot. because suddenly every interaction between them just feels like
cameron: (oh god what if he finds out I want to have sex with house) hey, what's up?
chase: (oh god what if she finds out I want to have sex with house) not much, you?
I'm not particularly a fan of this hc but it genuinely made me laugh
Did y'all know toilet in Latin is "locus secretus", translated as "the place of secrets" or "the room of secrets"? That's why it's called "The Chamber of Secrets". Mind blowing.

The Harry Potter paradox or why Harry did not survive book 3
Throwback to "Owl Post Again", the last chapter in "Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban".
“And the dementors?” said Dumbledore. “They’ll be removed from the school, I trust?”
“Oh yes, they’ll have to go,” said Fudge, running his fingers distractedly through his hair. “Never dreamed they’d attempt to administer the Kiss on an innocent boy. . . . Completely out of control . . . no, I’ll have them packed off back to Azkaban tonight. . . . Perhaps we should think about dragons at the school entrance. . . .”
So the dementors really tried to kiss Harry but, as we know, he was saved by...himself?? When you read the book it makes sense because at the moment Harry thought he's being saved by his dad. But if you think about it, if Harry's kissed by the dementor, there's no way he can go back in time and save himself, his soul would be already gone. I think that's the biggest plot hole in the whole series.
ok but like, who the fuck are JAMES and GREG
real
rip Robert Chase you'd have loved Brat Summer
Rip House but I absolutely refuse to believe you hate tea
Rip House you would have loved spamming your Instagram notes

I don't know why the fandom isn't talking about Stacy. House and Stacy's dynamic is EPIC. They have absolutely no self control. Everytime they break no contact, there's chemistry between them they can't overcome. That's why Stacy left after their break up. They HAD to break up but that'd be absolutely impossible if she stayed. It's toxic, it's home wrecking and I absolutely love every second of it. She knew him so well, she always knew what he's up to and actually COULD put up with it. Unlike Cuddy btw, she thought she could but she really couldn't. I love Huddy, I love Hilson and I absolutely love Stacy and House.
And she's an amazing character too. Bossy, aware, smart. Shame she didn't have more screen time.
I love when in the cinematic universe two people break no contact and one of them gives the other something to eat/drink and that person is like "Oh, I gave up red meat" or "I don't like my coffee with sugar anymore". Especially when the one giving the food hasn't changed one bit but the receiver has changed so much that the rebound between them is now impossible. It's like in one small thing as a diet change the giver can finally realize they don't know each other anymore, they don't have the connection they had, it's over.
