actually re: the trans chase post, i think that actually if chase was a girl, chase would be seen/perceived a lot like amber. they're not that alike, but just as amber is punished and looked down on for being ruthless and not playing nice/covering her own ass and being self-serving... that's chase, babey!! but he gets away with it because he's a man.
and in turn, you have to wonder how a female chase would have adapted and been shaped by these perceptions. would she, like amber, lean into a performative femininity and soft-spoken aggression? chase can get away with easy-going apathy because he has nothing to prove: a female and especially trans chase would have a lot to prove, and be entirely unable to get away with coasting on her privilege. look at amber. look at cuddy, or cameron.
chase and amber, in the show, aren't all that alike, even if they do share a certain self-serving streak. but that's entirely because chase has nothing to prove, does not have to justify his position or inclusion: he was literally a nepo-hire who skipped the interview process! and amber has had to fight for everything, to earn everything, because she will never, ever, "deserve" it. they aren't all that alike. but if chase was a woman, i think they would be.
