Little Chongyun Headcanons

Chongyun has a fairly high age range of about 5-8. Though if a drop is particularly bad he may go younger
Regression has slowly become a part of Chongyun’s repertoire for controlling his yang spirit. When faced with too much stress that his normal tactics can’t mitigate he will regress instead. His regression finest normally last too long, only until he has his energy under control
His first time regressing was caused by a particularly bad lapse in his control on his yang energy. The lapse in control ended in the involuntary regression. Xingqiu was thankfully present when it happened and was able to help take care of his friend. It took a lot of explaining for Chongyun to fully understand what was happening to him and that regressing wasn’t a bad thing
There is no asking the little exorcist to make decisions on what activities he wants to do. Chongyun will just wait to be given an activity and told what he’s supposed to do before deciding whether he wants to do it or not. Some games and activities are always a yes, like hide and seek, being read to, tag, or I spy
It’s not an uncommon occurrence for Chongyun to get very clingy when regressed. If his Yang energy is particularly unbalanced he’d much rather curl up and cuddle with his caregiver then move around much.
Food and drink for this little one is fairly simple. Chongyun never really puts up a fuss about meals and snacks though he obviously prefers it all cold no matter the food. Fruit popsicles are a treat he’s often given for dessert
Xingqiu is Chongyun’s favourite person while regressed. The regressed exorcist always wants to be curled up on the writer’s lap while rambling about the evil spirits he’s been tracking or whatever mission he’s been on. Xingqiu just lets him and will be the one to read to him if he feels like it
Chongyun doesn’t own much regression gear because he’s slightly embarrassed about his regression. The gear he does own was all gifts from Xingqiu and Xiangling. His favourite item is a white teddy bear he got from Xianling, he named it ghost. Ghost remains tucked in his bag at all times just incase he regress
Passively chewing on things is one of the more obvious signs that Chongyun is regressing. He often gnaws on his sleeve or the ear of his teddy bear when he is going to or actively regressing. His caregivers have tried to dissuade him from chewing on such things with chewlry and teething toys but it’s still a heavy work in progress
Nicknames aren’t something Chongyun is particularly comfortable with but he does have nicknames for Xingqiu and Xiangling which they both find pretty cute and lightly tease him about. He calls Xingqiu, Baba and Xiangling, Bear
