@staff while i understand that taking precautions and hiding some specific content is reasonable, i believe that taking it to this level of censorship is outrageous. i’ve always prized tumblr’s freedom and looseness over other social media sites, and this is directly affecting the idea of tumblr as a whole. yes, the safe mode may be a good idea as to solving this issue of filtering content, but i don’t believe that implementing permanent safe mode is a good idea, especially when the large majority of tumblr users are under eighteen. i would suggest an alternative solution to this problem, perhaps blocking certain tags or keeping the safe mode but removing the ageist restrictions. thank you.
