I often find myself lost in tutorials when I’m doing research. Most frequently, this is because the tutorial I’m trying to understand assumes I have a wealth of knowledge on the basics | fundamentals of art.

<.< -cough- I don’t. I’m still learning.

So! These are some of my favorite tutorials I’ve come across, and I want to share them with you all in case you’re like me; Someone who has been drawing a long time but doesn’t quite have the best understanding of art. They’re clear, concise, and most importantly, easy to understand + show the method of practice.

That last two in particular don’t really have much to do with the practical application of art. However, if you’ve ever been down on yourself, wanted to quit, or felt like everyone around you is better | progressing faster, watch that video. It helped me a lot, changed how I view my art, and I hope it’ll do the same for you. As for the very last video: STRETCH YOUR WRISTS AND HANDS. Don’t subject yourself to RSI like I have. It hurts. You don’t want it.

Anywho. We go to dinner because everything is social distanced and people are wearing masks/got vaccinated and it's a legit cause to celebrate. I made a reservation earlier that day and when we get there I see I'm really glad that I did. There were people waiting outside and people still trying to get tables. They close at 10. We got there at 9. We didn't even wait ten minutes before they called my name.

SO we head for the entrance when this guy and girl rush in ahead of us to the door. I'm like that's one. (Rude fuck but it gets better) Inside some guy is pestering the seating hostess about the name she called. The poor hostess looks tired and I'm like okay that's two. I pipe up that my name was called for 2 and he backed down. Back to this other fuck.

They get to the seating hostess and ask for a table for 7...an hour before they close...with a bunch of people still waiting. The poor girl tries explaining that it's likely not going to be possible because there are reservations still being accommodated and they would be waiting past serving time and they can't do that. The girl with the dude sighs and says "Oh well. We tried" but the guy stares down the waitress as something flashes in his eyes. It's easy to look intimidating with a mask these days. Motherfucker went there. That's three. My friend and I look at each other because we KNOW what he's gonna do. We've worked fast food in the past.

This motherfucker decides to take a step closer to the podium, make himself look bigger, gives her asshole eyes, and gives her a nasty attitude when he says "Well that's not my problem."

Fucking. Clown.

I see the poor girl's eyes and I know that look. I had it many times when I dealt with a bitch in fast food. She's completely zoned out. And my friend and I are like we gon save this poor girl. We side step and politely let her know she called our name and as we do the big guy who was standing behind her (was listening the whole time and we found out it was her manager later) let out a short laugh and told the fuck "Aha...actually sir it IS your problem! We can't accommodate you." All cheerful. I'm grinning like an idiot behind my mask. And my friend and I are like AnYwAy they called US for OUR TABLE soooo...:D.

The girl makes eye contact with my friend and I kind of nudge my head so she can walk away with us. She comes to and apologizes as she walks with us and we immediately tell her not to worry. She's doing great (you're doing amazing sweetie!!!) and that we're sorry she had to go through that. I told her girl I KNOW. I know that look in your eyes and I'm so sorry you had to deal with that asshole. She said she was just happy that her manager was there. She takes us to our table and tells us thank you and to enjoy then adds "hey dinner and a show!" And I'm like I know right! I didn't know there would be clowns up in here tonight! She laughed as she walked back to her podium.

Got the union job I’ve been trying and working towards SINCE DECEMBER. Nothing worthwhile comes easy. Being shrewd has paid off.

Sunday my family threw me a bbq as well. Had me sooooome RIBEYE AND MARTINIS. life is good!

I got a lot of asks about this so I made a tutorial on how I was able to emulate the 80s aesthetic, please keep in mind I’m not an expert and what I put here is just what I personally did. I hope you guys like it and hope it helps
