unfortunately realizing when characters do bad things it actually doesn’t effect me and i’m still inlove with them…. like i can fix him
I may be the only one who thinks about them, but! Sohdik brainrot in my head. I know he killed her but what if romance happened beforehand. What if that was the first time anyone was nice to him and seemed interested in what he was working on. What if I cried
i’ve actually become a zandik was framed for sohreh’s death truther for the very reason that he had little reason to kill probably the ONLY person to be nice to him like ever.
platonically or romantically or whatever it may have been, i plan to die on this hill and i implore you to dry your tears and join me
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!🥳

ALL OF THESE REQUIRE GETTING OUT OF BED
For real, actionable advice feel free to skip ahead to the second big text. tl;dr look around the red text.
Why do people write this?
Typically advice for depressed people is written by people who aren't depressed. That does make sense since depression makes it so much more difficult to do things. Things that are done are most often done by people that find it easy to do things.
For the author, a making a cup of tea or sitting outside for a few minutes are examples of something that is a "free action". You might here someone express the belief that "willpower is infinite".
I used to think I could walk forever up until I did so for 9 hours. What is going on when someone writes this is that they never had to come up to these limits before. That leads to advice that isn't helpful to the people that need it most.
This is also a problem with physical exercise. Most people think of running or lifting weights as typical starting points. But what does someone who can't stand for long do?
The same principles apply, you stretch the muscles, they break, they repair. It's just that when you are starting from scratch, lifting the leg and standing or what have you is enough to do that.
So I am depressed and can't get out of bed. What do I do?
Just like with exercise we start small.
Think about breathing manually. This is impossible to fail. You don't have to do anything besides think of breathing. And yet, as you do it it is proof you have some control still.
Wiggle your fingers. Open and close your hand.
Move your arm. Lift it up. It can be just at the elbow to start
Put your hand in a position to push you to the side. It's okay if this just gets you to your side. That is progress
Get the legs involved. You can start with the toes, then ankles, then up to your knees
With more limbs involved we can shift over to the edge of the bed
Get some legs off
Sitting position
Now stand up
Reading this you may find that it doesn't take that many steps. That's great. You may find that it takes more and that you have to recover from each one. That's fine too. The important part is that you gained some progress each time. Even if you fall back, it gets easier and easier to do the same thing, just like building muscle.
At the end of the day, no one is going to know how many steps you used to get out of bed. The trick is that when something seems insurmountable you break it down into small enough steps that the next one is doable to you personally.
Once you get it done, then that's as good as anyone else.
In defence of the writer of the original article, that preview is not the whole article. If you actually look at the article, the writer is talking about things that have helped her get out of bed during her own struggles with depression. She starts at "try sitting up", and also talks about letting yourself lie in bed for a while messing around on your phone, and a bunch of other things.
The list of activities in the preview is a list of suggestions for small enjoyable things she has tried including in her morning routine to try and make getting out of bed feel bearable.
Her ideas might not work for you, but you should definitely actually read someone's writing, not just the preview that google gives out, before you lump them into the category of people who have no experience of depression telling you to Just Stop Being Like That.
New hyperfixation go brr
I feel sorry for children because they never had the experience of playing games or watching things for free. It's why I think a lot of them don't hate ads as much as people older then them do, they just accepted them as a necessary part of their reality and deal with it because the ads have always been there for them.
When I was 14 and started using wattpad it was still a shitty little fanficiton app and everything on that app was free. E v e r y t h i n g.
You only needed an account and you could download countless books and read them offline whenever you wanted. You could write offline and publish and edit whatever and whenever you wanted. There were no ads, no premium no money involved what so ever. It was the reason why I used it, I used to download (well save to my library) 200 fanfics before my summer vacation because I knew I wouldn't have internet and I wanted to entertain myself, I wrote 7 books and published them for fun because I could write and save while offline and then publish them later if I wanted.
When I opened wattpad after a few years I was first met with "upgrade to premium to download and read unlimited books" and then I was met with an ad in between chapters. I didn't continue I deleted my account and haven't even wanted to download it again.
What capitalism and consumerism did in the last few years has had an affect on everything in such a way that cannot be explained unless you've seen the before. Because now you have these platforms crying and begging you not to use an ad blocker, but that means nothing to me because I know they can function without ads, because I've seen and experienced it. Which is why I do not understand people who pay for these things, but if I grew up in an environment where all of these things were already this obsessed with getting money maybe I wouldn't complain either.
Tldr. children do not have spaces anymore where they're not bombarded with ads and it's sad because they were born into this.
Tbhx character profiles
+translation attempts, up the ranks!
*"an ordinary person/man" would probably have been better oops
(fruit ninja malewife)
I maybe should've used "readily" instead of "willingly"...Also the way his interests contradict his image, cute!
Let me know if there are any errors (especially mo sha's), or if someone else has already translated. They actually introduced the organisations mentioned here too, also lmk if there's interest in that!
I almost didnt make it ong
Anyway, Happy April Fools to these birthday boys!!🥳
