They excitedly gasp , eyes widening . “ dada dada , I colored you some pictures “ they say smiling . “ oh really ? Can dada see ? “ mhm mhm “ they say excitedly running to grab their drawings off the table and handing them to you .

You look at all of them your heart warming and a smile spreading across your face . “ these are so good buddy ! Wow ! You are quite the little artist huh ? “ they smile wide “ mhm !! Mhm !! “ what do you say we hang em up on the fridge ? “

Today was your first day of kindergarten . You were excited but a small pit of nervousness sat in your tummy . You walk slowly squeezing dads hand . He notices and stops . “ what’s wrong love bug ? “ you shuffle your feet staring at the ground . “ m scared . . of going to kindergarten . . dadas not gonna be there “ you say frowning .

They crouch down beside you and pull you into a hug . You’re valid in feeling that way buddy ! This is new and sometimes new things can be scary . But dad knows you’re going to do great . You’re gonna make lots of friends and have lots of fun learning and playing . “ do I have to go ? “ you say looking up at your carer . They smile nodding . “ dads gotta work during the day , and dad can’t take you with him , but guess what bug ? “ you look at him tilting your head . “ hm ? “ dad will be here right on time when you get out to pick you up . You can tell dad all about your first day of kindy and we can go get some ice cream after . How does that sound ? “

It smiles feeling a bit more sure about kindy . “ promise dada ? “
