Anyway I was really impressed by the RENT tour cast. I never super got into RENT (am I supposed to capitalize all four letters?) so I’m not sure if I cut this right. Particular standouts were Skyler Volpe (Mimi), Kaleb Wells (Roger), David Merino (Angel), Alia Hodge (Seasons of Love soloist/ensemble) and Futaba Shioda (Alexei Darling/ensemble). Despite being three rows from the back of the balcony, I could really feel these actor’s emotions. 

This is the 20th anniversary cast of RENT singing Seasons of Love. Listen to this, if only for the soloists. The male soloist BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN, GUYS.

During this song, Angel smiled and nodded at me because I was crying and clapping along. I was in the pit, FRONT ROW. Yes, only a few feet away from the cast.

Skyler Volpe is a dream to watch perform. She’s improved a lot since I first saw her.

Yeah, her voice cracks a little during one part in this performance. So what? It happens.
