Like the moon, they have phases too,

yet even in their silence,

for arriving too late,

for placing hearts

in the wrong universe,

where feelings exist

but forever cannot stay.

Sometimes we meet souls

we wish had found us earlier

before the distance,

before the timing,

before life became

what it already is.

Yet time has its own strange humor.

It lets us stumble into feelings

we never planned to carry,

then watches us laugh softly at them,

like two stars meeting for a moment

before drifting back into the dark.

And maybe that is love too

not always meant to last,

but meant to happen

I have tasted the sea and touched the skies,

Yet I chose to leave them behind

Just to chase the dreams

That kept calling my name.

I once had a beautiful life,

A place filled with comfort and peace,

But staying there
