I love drawing birds! I don't draw them as often anymore. They don't challenge me as much as other animals. However I will be doing more bird paintings because they will challenge me more. Painting is a bit difficult for me when it comes to shading colors, layering colors, and doing thin brush strokes. So it'll be interesting and of course fun to do! :)

So, for me I struggled with this for a long time. I thought I had to be fully prepared to get to where I wanted to be. But, when last year came. I had to be ready even if I wasn’t. One of my favorite quotes helped me see that. I will share it with you. “Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.” I didn’t know how to draw or paint last year. I just dove head first into it. And thought I would share with you all my art journey. And maybe put a smile on your face along the way! :)

A word of encouragement: Throughout my 20's I had a lot of self doubt. I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. I grew up with a severe learning disability that kept me from seeing my full potential. I had no goals for my future. I'm sitting here in my 30's just now figuring out what I want for my life. I want to inspire people daily to keep going after your dreams. Even if it feels like it's too late to do so. I'm a living example of that. I wasted my 20's worrying about my future instead of actively doing something to make it better. You have to believe you can do it. That's the biggest thing we as humans struggle with, is our inner voice telling us that we can't. But we can. I don't have much. I actually started doing art with a 5 dollar watercolor palette and some old paint brushes I had in my crafting supplies. I bought a small pen set for my pen art. And I started to upload it onto Instagram from a computer that the screen was duct taped to keep it from falling apart. I used that computer for over 6 months. I just used what I had. I wasn't prepared. I wasn't ready but I did it anyways. And you can to! :)

I thought I would mention that I’ve only been doing art for a year now. And I love inspirational quotes! So, I thought I would merge the two together! :)
