“Well, just like anyone in law enforcement, it’s a job that doesn’t fit everyone. It’s difficult, and you have to be able to assess dangerous situations quickly, and make choices most people don’t want to make. So, you’re right, it might not be a job for you, but you can be a good citizen and at least let us know if you see anything suspicious,” Flynn smiled. “That’s all I can ask.”

✴︎ — “ It’s a good way to run things, ” Glim nodded. “ Oh, I’m that person who likes to bury all their emotions deep, deep down and pretend they don’t exist, so I probably won’t show up to vent unless it’s bad. ”

Huijun chuckled just a bit. “Not that sort of playful, love,” he mused, tapping his fingers on the counter again. “I’m a flirt as you say,” he smirked, slowly standing walking towards him. “Very good deed, not many people would stop and help out someone like that, very admirable,” he mused.

“I like cats and dogs! I think sometimes they don’t like me because I smell like the dead, but I really like them,” Theo hummed. “And for the most part they seem to be able to look past that, which I appreciate.” he looked at Killian. “Wow, birds? I wanna feed the birds for sure.”

✴︎ — “ Yes, it seems to be. It’s certainly better than worse would be, ” Glimmer nodded. “ Nothing major’s good. I think. Unless something not major turns into something major, ” she mused. “ If you ever do need someone to vent to though, I’m generally here. Well, in the office, but here. ”

Flynn nodded as he smiled at the other. “Finding where you belong is crucial. It’s just unfortunate that some people won’t agree with you. Even sometimes family won’t agree with you,” he looked down. “I’m grateful that my family are supportive, and good hunters, and that I can live the legacy. But I know there are too many hunters that don’t believe as my family does. They’re not humane at all.”

“Exactly true,” he mused. “Mine just get extra playful, it’s really a sin,” he leaned on the counter, staring at Killian a bit more. “Oh, well thank you. I am partial to it, name after my grandfather,” he nodded. “I guess it was bound to happen eldest son and all,” he chewed his lip. “Yeah, I saw the damage, I called Tsuga when it happened, it was a mess.”

✴︎ — Glimmer curled her fingers around the neck of her glass, bringing it to her lips as she tilted her head in response to the man who’d sat beside her. “ Suppose I’ve been better, but things are clearing up, so I’ve certainly been worse, ” she smiled, sipping from her glass. “ How about you ? ”

Flynn smiled. “I imagine working with animals is much easier than working with humans, huh? Or other supernaturals,” he chuckled. “Sometimes I wish I could have decided to take another path, one that’s less stressful. But then I think, I wouldn’t even be myself if I did that.”

“Any day with animals is a good one,” he smiled. “Can we go see the animals now? I wanna see them. I bet they’ll cheer me up. My best friend Dante has a bunch of finches and one cockatiel, and I love her because she makes the cutest noises! She sings and stuff. Dante teaches her songs. It really makes me feel better when I’m sad.”

“Yes, I need to keep my hands busy or they get a bit, frisky,” he mused. “Me too so keep it as Killian,” he grinned just a bit. “No problem, it’s a really nice name.”

“I do draw and sketch a bit, not nearly as good as Tsuga, but I dabble,” he nodded, giving Killian’s hand a gentle squeeze he smirked. “Nice to meet you Killian, huh, I always liked that name. Kill, nah Killian is good, it’s a good name, a strong name.”
