Some times when I lay in bed late at night, I get deep thoughts about life and how short it truly is. Who’s to say that today wasn’t our last day. Who’s to say that tomorrow will come. Any day, at any moment, our time could run out. We could smile our last smile. Cry our last tear. Take our last breath. And if I lay here and think what if you didn’t wake up tomorrow would I be okay with how you fell asleep, my answer would be no. I wouldn’t be okay with it. I wouldn’t be okay with how we left things. If today was our last day, I want you to know a couple things. For starters I’d want you to know that you’re truly the love of my life. I’d take a bullet for you. There’s nothing I wouldn’t give for you. You’ve been my motivation and my rock. You’ve been my happy place. My best friend. My lover. Everything. You’ve been my everything. I wish I would’ve kissed you a little more. I wish I would have held you a little harder. I wish I would’ve stayed a little longer. Forever going to live with regrets if this is it. You may have blocked me or you may have fell asleep. Or maybe you’re up with your thoughts like I am. But whatever the case may be, I want you to know these things. I want you to know that I care. That I love you. That I only want what’s best for you. Your happiness means a lot to me and that’s what you deserve to have. And if one day you find that happiness and it doesn’t involve me, I hope that she’ll look into your blue eyes and realize she’s got my whole world sitting right in front of her. When she holds your hand in the car, I hope she realizes she has the love of my life in the palm of her hand. Will you hold her when she cries like you did with me? Will you drive 3 hours just to see her for one? Will I just be some girl you stayed up with on your sleepless nights? Will I be a closed chapter? Or maybe a closed book?
