The horrified expression wouldn’t leave her face because if leaving in a city had made her afraid of anything, that thing would have been rats. The animal oddly moved about and so Darcie quickly concluded that it must have been Kian’s doing. Without much hesitation she turned around to face him when he showed up and slapped him across the face. “You did this, didn’t you? You did this on purpose and now it is going to kill us.”

His head turned towards the rat for a brief second, only to notice how odd and disgusting it looked.·“It’s fin- ow.” He didn’t have time to finish, he could already feel the stinging·pain of her slap across his face. Instinctively, his hand reached up to feel his cheek, but it seemed just fine.·“What, how? You mean, you think I brought the rat here?”

“The 70′s?” Kian was still so new to all of this supernatural world, the thought someone who looked like her could be much older hadn’t crossed his mind yet. “How old are you?”

Kian was heading back home after his shift. Back and forth between the restaurant and his apartment was the only way he could go without getting lost. Everything was still so new, his eyes wandered over everything they could. Until he spotted a girl that seemed to be about to cross the street. Or at least, she was really near the edge of the sidewalk. And seconds later, he caught up on the car coming directly on her. Kian didn’t waste a second before hurrying towards her, pulling her away from the street. “Well that was close!”

Darcie was finishing separating her outfit, the only activity she could do quietly without being a nuisance, when she decided to take a better look at herself in the living room mirror. “Well how big is it?” She asked uninterested as she hadn’t yet processed the words in her mind. Carelessly she made her way to bathroom before coming face to face with the animal which led her to yell out a bloodcurdling scream. “KIAAAAAAAAAAN!”

“Well, it’s pretty big.” He admitted, before realizing where she was heading. As much as tried to stop her, he couldn’t get there in time, according to the scream that came from the room. “So much for trying to warn you.” He sighed before making his way over, trying to place himself between her and the rat. “It’s fine, Darcie. I’ll take care of it. Last time I checked, it was dead. How hard must it be to kill a zombie rat?”
