No... no you are not. My friend and I were both grossed out by this. I think what makes it worse is it plays into the harmful stereotype that bisexual people are sexually promiscuous. Straight and gay relationships are played somewhat seriously and then the one bisexual character is a big joke. It's... not amazing.

I feel like if it was just Jacob and his beau being super sexual to each other and there being other bi representation it might be better. Because I will admit, The Dirt is fucking hilarious. But the sexual harassment? Not so much.

Hi, yes this blog is still active (horrifyingly might I add). But you just asked the most loaded question.

Now, I answered that in my post here. That was around January 2021 and while I updated at the bottom some of it stands and some of it has shifted a bit.

Obviously, it's up to you because it's not that easy. Sure there were a lot of shitty things, but after hundreds of audio dramas, it's still my favorite. But it's also unfinished, had some problematic creators, problematic themes (racism, homophobia, a horrifying about of holocaust jokes, etc), and was overall a shitshow. I also have a more complex con: there's a current lack of community. The show ended in 2020 and it's now 2023. There are a few active users (including me) but most people have moved on. You don't need a community to love a piece of media but it was definitely a big draw for most people. Even I have very fond memories of staying up until 3:00 am to catch the latest episode and blogging about it. Oh and the memes and the fanart. It made everything feel alive. And that's gone. Even the website's gone.

TDLR: If I had to really sum it up, I'd say to steer away from this podcast unless you're super curious and willing to get your heart broken.

Honestly, that's a great idea! Especially since they didn't just tear down the discord community, but Reddit and others. I don't doubt that a lot of people are craving that sense of community back. Sorry for the late response. But, you are correct. Kyle's response and "apology" were insensitive and hurtful. That episode made fun of disability and the stereotypes. And the apology was a slap in the face. Kyle refused to understand he hurt a community or apologizes to said community.

I am deeply sorry you had to listen to that episode and read that apology. I hope you understand that Kyle was a bigot and that's why this blog was created. And I hope you can help heal that trauma. Thank you for speaking up.

Hello, anon!

This blog has been dead for over a year, but you reignited my desire to actually respond to posts. A lot of people don't understand how the content you consume will alter you. It's almost impossible to separate yourself from the things you enjoy or care about. Then, when the creator of something that has touched you deeply is a bad person and blocks you? That will affect the person you are, even if you don't want it to.

Recently, it was brought to my attention about a project or book by the discord mods in order to thank the creators on KFAM in October of 2018. People submitted things about how the podcast meant so much to them and it was collected. Along with submissions, your were asked to give your full name, state, and country along and were also entered in a raffle for free merchandise (I think stickers). I took part of this and here is a screenshot of a discord mod asking me, a 16-year-old minor, for my information.

While I think it was good-intentioned, it was not well thought-out. It is very suspicious to ask a minor for their full name and where they live. Being online with adults for a long time can lower someone's guard.

You’re absolutely correct! So many podcasts managed to get around the pandemic, especially since the audio medium is much more forgiving in not having many people in close contact. I know this pandemic has really taken away a lot of creativity and motivation too, so I understand those that haven’t been able to work on creative outlets, but I think Kyle was using it as an excuse.

KFAM was already on rocky ground, with Phase 2 not being as good as Phase 1, the plot moving slower, and the cracks starting to show in full. Not to mention, this was before the pandemic and to blame that on the pandemic is ridiculous. Then, KFAM’s problematic nature started to be dug up and criticized more, Kyle being hostile to people that criticized people online, and “creative” differences between Eric and Kyle. 

(This is unsupported but I think Eric talked to Kyle about the criticism and wanted to push the podcast in a more progressive way in response. Eric never was involved in drama over criticism and Kyle always shoves his ego first, so of course there were differences. That might’ve been the last straw. Again, this is speculation).

Holy s***. I never went to the meet and greet as I didn't live near the event so I can't confirm. But this would explain why the kfam subreddit became fully private instead of a mass deletion.

I personally didn't have too sketch conversations with Kyle on the discord, even though I was a minor. But this means nothing.

As for the allegations, I really can't confirm but I'm asking if ANYONE knows anything about this or sketchy behavior of Kyle with women please tell us or come forward. You can be anonymous, but if you don't mind pming one of the creators if the blog to confirm that would be great.

Okay, so I actually still have access to the discord and it seems that there isn’t much drama and is pretty much dead. There could be drama on scattered discord servers, but it’s pretty much dead.

But, there are some interesting things that led to this that I want to talk about that I don’t think I talked about in a previous post:

While the kfam discord was slowly dying, the lack of any influx seems to be due to there literally being two channels open, as about a month back (around April first), the discord shut down due to the hiatus. The only channel open to everyone was the basic kfam-chat. Now, I don’t mean to speculate, but I have a feeling the mods were told kfam wasn’t coming back. (Also, the announcements channel was wiped except for the kfam ending post).

Now, this is the unoffical offical discord. In 2017, there was an offical discord that over the first hiatus was abandoned due to moderation issues at some time. I’m not clear on the whole story, but I remember people complaining about mods using too much power and the creators not having time/resources to run it. There was also a lot of drama, but I stayed away from that other than a chat with Kyle about ep 75 and episode drops. All that remained was a link to the unoffical offical discord last time I checked. Most of the very big fans became mods on the new discord along with some older mods. I also think a few of them are also mods on the subreddit which is kind of interesting.
