After reading "With Folded Hands", Jack Williamson, 1947 & Terms of Service by Keller & Neufeld 2014. I can say that both readings have to do with technology taking roles of normal humans’ work as well as certain types of algorithms.

 In With Folded Hands, it tells how machines started taking jobs of normal humans via experience and programming personal data. After the main characters found this out. They try to revolt against the robots only to fail in the process. The reason for their failure is because of this advancement. The government there would want to silence those who oppress the idea because of the success the machines made more than the humans.

In Terms of Service, it tells us as self-explanatory as it is. It tells about companies utilizing personal data to gather ads based on that data as well as censoring issues to protect the public or in this case making sure they don’t revolt. Companies like Gmail, it collects data in order to showcase ads to the profits of their users. Social Media websites such as Facebook and Twitter collect personal data to cater to the users that use it frequently to catch up on current events or reconnect with their friends or acquaintances. Often people use it to create political movements such as Black Lives Matter and Occupy Wall Street. The Comic also expresses how the usages of these social media can also be a disadvantage because certain governments will want the people to be silenced due to fear of overthrow.

What I read recently was  Constituents of a Theory of the Media & Information Management: A Proposal. Both Tell of how modern media works in today’s society. It also describes how it relates to politics in some aspects. 

For Example in Constituents it states “ It is New Left socialism, however, and certain Marxist concepts are important to this essay and to Jean Baudrillard’s reply.” 

These two also shows how we see new forms of media in an organized way for example in Information Mangement it states “In providing a system for manipulating this sort of information, the hope would be to allow a pool of information to develop which could grow and evolve with the organization and the projects it describes. For this to be possible, the method of storage must not place its own restraints on the information.”

From what I read from both readings, both of them have the main concept of how data is organized. Each with a different way of displaying it as well as how it was inputted.

In Information Technology Revolution, It shows information gathering has been revolutionized to inform the masses. Using a communication network it can gather necessary data for any task. it also describes how it’s used and the many devices people use to do so. Such as the Smart[rtphone,Tablet, and Laptop. This can also tell us that technology plays a part in organizing data SF Garden Registry shows how data is organized via the usage of technology like saying looking at an area by using search engines like Bing and Google. It analyzes the area in a grid and maps out the coordinates.
