In loving memory of Bud Yorkin, here’s a minisode of What’s Happening!! Season 2 episode 18, “Rerun Sees the Light”.

The Kelly Entertainment Network on Tumblr remembers a great iconic and prolific producer and director in the TV industry. Alan David “Bud” Yorkin, who recently lost his life at age 89 yesterday. He was known for co-producing All in the Family, Sanford and Son, What’s Happening!!, and Carter Country among others with the first two by Norman Lear and the second two with Saul Turtletaub and Bernie Orenstein. He co-founded the company, Tandem Productions with Norman Lear in 1959, which is still active as a unit of Sony Pictures Television after it was sold to Coca-Cola in 1985 along with Embassy Communications. He ended his partnership with Lear in 1975.
