thank you @sallowsoul for this incredible template! 🫶 I’ll eat up every opportunity I have to yap about Liya (so prepare yourselves, it’s a shyt ton of yappinggg bc I clearly don’t know when to stop… *ahem* self control just isn’t in my dictionary)
So here’s my take on Liya as…
A cardinal sin:
When I was looking at the list of seven deadly sins, I was thinking, “damn, she lowkey fits all of them (she’s massively sick in the head im sorry)”. But pride is considered the mother of all vices and the root of all evil so it’s extremely fitting for Liya. She believes that whatever she does is right, and will do whatever it takes to justify it even though it could be hurting others…though she does have moments of self awareness — like “omg I’m a monster” (yes, she’s still human, it’s natural to have instances of guilt and regret), but ultimately, her ego will get the better of her and she’ll think “oh, but this is for the greater good. I deserve this (she does not).” I think it was because of her massive pride, that the other sins gradually manifests itself into the person she is today. On a similar note, if liya ever goes for confession with the priest, she’s going to be lying the whole time so there’s virtually no way she’s repenting…oh liya, you live up to the fallen angel title (I like using Catholic imagery in my writing…yes I’m a Roman Catholic dw)
A Greek muse:
I admit, I know absolutely nothing about Greek mythology so I had to do some research. I found out that Melpomeme was the Greek muse of Tragedy…say less I’m sold. Liya’s canon story is a tragic one (even tho it was her own doing LOL and she is all to blame) but spoiler alert: Seb dies early and she’s left alone (bc she chose immortal as her fear of death is greater than her love for Sebastian )…and she gradually isolates herself from the few remaining people that care for her . She ends up becoming a famous Chinese drama actress living in Beijing (in the year 2026) but despite all the fame, will she ever be happy? I think not. (she’s destined to walk this earth alone)
A supernatural creature:
A siren was a no brainer for me. Liya is part Veela (though the exact percentage is still up for debate). In another life, she would be a siren, luring sailors into the sea with her sweet, sweet voice…(those poor, unsuspecting sailors don’t stand a chance!)
A gem:
Definitely a pearl…which is Liya’s favourite kind of gem! Her iconic pearl drop earrings are a must (she got them at a shop in hogsmeade solely bc the shopkeeper told her that “it suits her face”…she knew damn well it was a sales tactic but bought it anyways bc she liked hearing the compliment…and seb complimented on it after so alls good). Moreover, pearls in Chinese culture represents wealth, prosperity, nobility, and wealth making it a high status of power. It is also associated with the moon (perfect for Liya since her distant ancestor is the Chinese moon goddess, Chang’e) and it represents “the beauty of the east”.
A painting:
When i tell you i was this close to using “The Fallen Angel” painting by Alexandre Cabanel…but i decided against it bc it was basiccccc - you might be thinking, yeah colette we get it, liya is the epitome of the fallen angel blah blah blah - so to save you from the constant barrage of repetition and insufferable reminder, i decided to use Berthe Morisot's “Woman at Her Toilette” (1875–1880). On the surface, it’s extremely fitting — Liya cares about her vanity (to a fault) and the painting reflects just that: a woman grooming herself in front of the mirror. Upon further analysis, it’s interesting to note that the woman’s reflection in the painting is not reflected in the mirror, moreover, we cannot see her face (the first aspect that people usually focus on when they see someone) as her back is facing us. We can only see her dress, her accessories, and her hair. (Trivial things) To me, this conveys a lack of identity and can be tied to Liya’s personality — she performs (aka performative behaviour) so much, but who is the real, authentic her when she’s not performing? What makes Liya Chang…Liya Chang under all the lies, scheming, and manipulation? Liya doesn’t know, and neither does the “audience”…or the people closet to her. Alas, the world is her stage and she’s just an actor, right?
ruh roh guys….i think something b̴̡͍̰̖͓͇̍̒̈́̂͜͜a̵̡̛̛̘̦̼͇̥̗̗̺͓͙͎̝̱̖̠͍̐́͆̊̍̓̆̃̑̿͋̓͛̉͑̋̓̀̏̃̔͛̅̊̒͘͝ͅd̴̗̦͈͎̹͕̮̲̬̗̰͇͍̯̯̜͚̔͐͐͒̐̔͜͝ͅ happened in the woods.. anyway let’s play fairies together

Suffice to say, Liya is not a fighter LOL…she doesn’t like to get her hair messed up or her uniform wrinkled (yes because that’s what’s most important here….)
Strengths: Magic (+ ancient magic hello?? Virtually overpowered mc sorry), agility (pretty quick if she wants to be), intelligence and charisma
Weaknesses: Strength and Stamina (she can’t utilise hand to hand combat to save her life) (cannot pack a punch whatsoever…literally that is, figuratively on the other hand….)
Special move: doe eyes (will use it to manipulate or charm her way out of a fight) (works surprisingly well) (she 10000/10 recommends) (you just gotta *blink blink blink* *stare lovingly even if u rly just want to puke*) (the acting skills come into play)
Though the only way Liya would engage in a duel is: if someone challenged her first (bc yk…she’s one prideful mf) OR if she thinks that the duel would be easily over with a singular spell (she likes efficiency)
Edit: another special move Liya has is Legilimency…though not to read minds perse, but to find a horrible memory/nightmare/ fear and capitalise on it by distorting it into something even more horrible
But my head is full of poison, and my heart is full of doubt, I got toxins in my bloodstream you tried hard to suck em out…

Liya screwed up. Massively.
It was only a small fight — she didn’t expect things to escalate as fast and as explosive as it did.
Liya wasn’t even sure when or how the topic of conversation had shifted to muggles — she let out a small shudder at the very reminder. While she was not as fanatic as certain pure-bloods on the (useless) concept of blood purity, it was no coincidence that Liya disliked muggles too.
“The horrors I was subjected to when I lived in London were unimaginable. Everyday was a living nightmare in that backwards society.” Liya had told Hiroki in hushed whispers as they were seated at the DADA tower in between classes. She had beckoned him to sit closer - which he happily obliged - for the fear of being eavesdropped on.
The occasional student walked past every so often, and Liya knew that she had to be especially careful with her words because there were plenty of busybodies who wouldn't hesitate to use that information against her.
She wrinkled her nose, reaching into her bag to pull out a chocolate sweetie, “Which is why I’m glad to be in the wizarding world, although there’s still so many of them in Hogwarts.”
Liya took a thoughtful bite, ignoring Hiroki’s astonished stare, “Maybe someone should do something about it in the future…”
“Liya,” He began before he glanced at his fellow classmates she was just speaking of. He ran through his words carefully in his mind — he knew he couldn’t possibly understand the full weight of what Liya had gone through but he also couldn’t help but see the good in people — it came naturally to him, after all.
He took her hand in his and rubbed her knuckles, hoping the repetition would provide some comfort. “I know this doesn’t take away the pain you’ve experienced but I’m sorry, Liya. You didn’t deserve any of what happened in London.”
He gave her hand another gentle squeeze, fighting every fiber in his being from enveloping her in a giant hug and holding her firm against his chest. To comfort her in any small way he could. He knew he would never truly be able to understand the depths of what she had gone through after all.
But he looked up at his classmates again, feeling a small pang of guilt. They did nothing wrong. They got pushed into this fantastical world of wizardry and have inevitably experienced discrimination and hardship in their own way. They might be facing the same sort of things that Liya had.
Nothing was right about this situation and Hiroki knew that the ideal world required intense progression on both sides rather than a segregation of muggles and wizards. But maybe… it was possible. A river will flow no matter what but you can control the path it takes.
“Perhaps there is a way for us to live in harmony. People are people after all. We’ll find it.” It might’ve been a silly and idealistic stance for Hiroki to take but he had read about the importance of collaboration and unity. Perhaps he could build this utopia with Liya in his own way.
Liya contemplated his choice of words — perhaps there was a way for everyone to live in harmony. He wasn’t wrong per se, a small part of her naively believed that there was a way elsewhere had the circumstances been different - in another life, in another timeline - but not in the world she wanted to advocate for.
“While that may be true to an extent, having a segregation of muggles and wizards would be for the greater good. There won’t be any more discrimination or prejudice.” She looked up at him ruefully, tightening her grip on his hand slightly, “It’s like righting a wrong…and it would be peaceful.”
Hiroki’s gaze was steadier now. “I’m not saying that the muggle world and the wizarding world needs to be fully integrated - there’s far too much of a power imbalance. But what do you propose to do with muggles when they exhibit magic? Or if a wizard falls in love with a muggle? You can’t possibly say you would forbid it.”
At that point, Liya was thoroughly enjoying the conversation (not that she would ever admit to Hiroki, of course). No one had challenged her views in such a way, it was fun — and prepared her rebuttal for future resistance.
“Forbid is a strong word, so the key would be to significantly limit the number of incoming muggle students to Hogwarts each year…maybe an entrance exam of some sorts? We could even gamify it to increase the stakes,” Liya let out a blissful smile, just thinking about it - a new world of law and order - made her satisfied. She was going to do some good to the wizarding world, and it would be met with great response.
“The sky is the limit and the world is my oyster, but that’s not important now.”
This time, Hiroki could feel his frustration bubbling, threatening to make an appearance. For her sake, he tried to force it down, though his words came out harsher than he would have liked, “But it’s wrong, Liya. They’re people like us, the same everything, except for magic.”
He could see a flash of anger on her face. Liya’s sunny disposition had quickly turned sour, her eyes narrowing with suspicion, “Look, I don’t expect you to share the same views as me - but at least see where I’m coming from, this is for the greater good …!”
That was the straw that broke the camel’s back — Hiroki snapped.
“No, Liya, your mindset needs to change. It’s dangerous.” He let go of her hand, cursing inwardly about how strangely empty it felt, “I won’t sit there and let you insult my friends.”
With that, he packed up his things and walked away, leaving Liya alone all over again.
Now in the privacy of her dorm, Liya buried her hands in her face with a groan. She had her pity party — a shamelessly long one at that. Empty boxes of chocolate frogs were scattered around, with an alarming number of tissues thrown at the side.
Liya sat up straighter, she needed a distraction. At least that was the excuse she told herself, all she really wanted was to show Hiroki what he was missing — all of her.
Liya reached for her quill, routinely dipping it in her signature purple ink. She knew exactly who to call for help.
***
“Thanks for agreeing to do this, Sebastian.”
“Are you kidding?” He bobbed his head up and down, practically bouncing off the walls at the prospect alone, “A fake date is still a date with the Liya Chang!”
“Slow down, I’m taking you out for butterbeer, not taking you to bed.” Liya told him sharply, as she steered him to The Three Broomsticks.
At that statement, Sebastian flushed, the shade matched her red lipstick. He raised his hands in mock surrender, “Can’t blame me for trying…by the way, why are you doing this?”
Revenge.
“I’m controlling the narrative,” Liya told him smoothly, straightening her dress as they neared the establishment. “Get ready, he’s inside.”
As if a switch had been flipped, Sebastian hurried to open the door for her as Liya stepped inside — as confident and as poised as a peacock.
Immediately, Liya spotted Hiroki sitting near the front with Nila, a pretty Gryffindor who always seemed to be suspicious of her.
Liya wasn’t fazed one bit, in fact, she was thrilled to have another member of the audience for this lucrative show.
Sebastian offered her his arm as they strolled to a booth near the back, ignoring Hiroki’s gaze on her.
“Hiroki’s staring daggers at me.” Sebastian observed, sliding the menu to ‘his girlfriend’ opposite him.
“Good, that’s the point.” From her peripheral vision, she could see Hiroki staring straight at her, his poor attempt to hide his fists that clenched to his hands was …almost laughable.
“Now don’t flinch.” Without waiting for him to respond, Liya leaned over, pressing a quick kiss on Sebastian’s cheek.
And as if nothing happened, she sat back down to inspect the drinks menu nonchalantly.
Across from them, Hiroki was seeing red — he was absolutely livid! How dare she trample over him like this with some…nincompoop!
“I’m going over there,” Hiroki stood up abruptly but before he could make a move, Nila grabbed his arm, “Sit back down.”
This time, Hiroki faced Nila, and she was temporarily stunned by the immense hurt in his eyes…raw hurt mixed with undiluted anger.
At that moment, Nila couldn’t have hated Liya more.
“Look, she’s clearly pulling this act to get a reaction out of you, don’t give her that satisfaction.”
She glanced back at Liya, who was engrossed in a riveting conversation with Sebastian. They were talking so loudly that Nila managed to catch snippets of their conversation — ‘delicious butterbeer, excellent company’… ‘couldn’t be happier’… ‘do you have any plans afterwards?’
Liya was chatting a mile per minute, and seemed completely oblivious to Hiroki’s uncharacteristic burst out. No, she had to be aware, Nila thought, narrowing her eyes at the brunette, she’s just playing dumb.
She turned back to Hiroki, gently patting his hand, “I’ll give you two options, we can leave now or ignore them and finish our butterbeers.”
“I can’t just sit here in silence while that imp tries to steal my girlfriend — ”
“Liya’s pulling this crap to get a rise out of you! Do you really think she’s not aware of this blithe fact?”
Nila’s words must have finally registered to him as Hiroki’s shoulders slumped in defeat. At that moment, he resented Liya — how easily she could do all that just to make him jealous.
Hiroki sourly agreed to stay long enough to finish their butterbeers (which didn’t take long, he basically downed the glass in one go).
On a moment of impulse, he excused himself, walking straight to Liya’s table, his hand clenched — the unmistakably white ribbon just peeking out.
Liya only blinked at him, doe-eyed and all. “Can I help you?” She asked politely, and far too impersonal for someone she shared such an intimate history with.
Hiroki didn’t say anything. He unfolded his fist, and carefully laid the ribbon in the middle of the table before walking off with Nila hot at his heels.
Liya could only stare at the ribbon in disbelief, her heart racing, blood pressure rising.
Sebastian was first to break the silence, “What’s that?” He didn’t know if he wanted the answer to that, seeing as Liya’s trembling fingers gingerly held the inanimate object as if it could jump up and bite her at any second.
“My hair ribbon.”
The consensus was unanimous — Hiroki had officially broken up with her, and no amount of trickery or deception could salvage that.
“I’m so sorry Liya…”
“Don’t be,” Liya channeled a bright smile, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes, “Let’s continue with our drinks.”
Despite her composed exterior, she couldn’t ignore the sinking feeling in her heart much longer.
***
After parting ways with Sebastian, Liya knew she needed to get out of this place.
The constant reminder of Hiroki was everywhere, it was dizzying. With every corner she turned, Liya could only see him — The Three Broomsticks? The venue of their first date. Honeydukes? The place Hiroki often frequented, because he noticed how she always snuck a piece of chocolate frog in between her study sessions.
These minuscule habits Liya thought trivial? Hiroki always took notice of. It was as if had a sixth sense when it came to her, selflessly putting her needs before his even when she scolded him otherwise.
She needed to get out. Now.
The concept of love and heartbreak were powerful, all-consuming feelings — and when one has felt the two so deeply, so virtuously , drives one to do stupid things. And even Liya - ever so composed, ever so level-headed Liya - was not immune to the fact.
For some it could be drinking butterbeer till their heart was content, for others it could be wallowing in self-pity. But for Liya? It was taking out an entire poacher camp without any wiggenweld potions.
It was against her better judgement to mess with the poachers — Liya couldn’t care less about what they were doing. Albeit using illegal means, they were still hustling to make money. Who was she, a mere Hogwarts student, to interfere? Apparently, it was that night she decided to question everything she stood for and throw caution to the wind.
In hindsight, it was a horrible decision really…and one she realised too late as she awoke the next day in the Hospital Wing. Nurse Blainey hovered before her with a grim frown reserved for only the most disappointing students.
“What in Merlin’s name happened?!”
Liya squinted, her eyes forced to adjust to the harsh, sun-lit corridor, “I don’t remember.”
Liya did, in fact, remember. But what Nurse Blainey didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her.
Nurse Blainey let out an irritated sigh, handing (more like shoved) Liya a vial with thick brown glop, “I expect you to finish this before I come back to check on you again.”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
Liya inspected the vial in the sunlight, which was the wrong move because the mysterious looking liquid looked even more unappealing than before. She did not want to know what was in that bottle of horrors.
She placed the vial down harshly on the table beside her, and leaned back into the pillows (which were much too hard for her liking). Though, an incessant thought lingered in her mind: how did she end up in the Hospital Wing in the first place?
Liya recalled successfully taking out the camp, the feeling of accomplishment, and then…black.
So who brought her here?
The question was left unanswered as a slew of regular visitors every day left no room for quiet contemplation.
One night, a familiar Gryffindor slinked in. If Liya hadn’t been wide awake, she wouldn’t even have noticed her coming in. In an attempt to look more presentable, Liya fluffed her hair and straightened up.
She greeted the Gryffindor with a smile, sugary sweet and polite, “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Nila didn’t smile back, “You can drop the act, Liya.”
At that statement, Liya only pouted, twirling her hair carelessly, “Oh come on Nila, it’s just us girls. You don’t have to look like you want to rip my head off.”
Nila was not amused nor entertained in the slightest. In her eyes, no amount of sweet talking would ever make up for the fact that Liya was dangerous. And the further she stayed away from Hiroki, the better.
Nila merely stared straight at Liya, her voice stern with warning.
“Stay away from Hiroki,” she eyed the plethora of bandages on her arm and legs, “Endangering your own life for some sick game of yours? That’s low, even for you.”
Liya scoffed, she didn’t know whether to laugh at her wildly inaccurate assumption, or be insulted that Nila had thought she was incompetent, failing to get the job done.
“If I really wanted to 💀 myself, I would have succeeded. I assure you, this wasn’t planned.” She told Nila matter-of-factly, her eyes now devoid of any previous ‘warmth’…All Nila could see reflected back was a deeply insecure girl under an enormous ego.
And if Nila hadn’t hated Liya as much as she did, she might have felt sorry for her.
Liya finally dropped her act.
Nila chose not to dignify her with a response and glanced at the gifts that lay on the floor which enveloped Liya like a cave with its varying heights and sizes. Her eyes laid on a particular bag of presents for a second too long, and Liya followed her sightline — it was a purple gift bag filled with enough honeyduke sweets to feed a small army and tin of herbal tea leaves.
“That stupid idiot.” Nila muttered under her breath before walking out, ignoring Liya’s heightened suspicion. Curiously, Liya picked up the gift bag, she hadn’t gotten the chance to properly examined it.
And when Liya had just examined a little closer, she realised that the tin of tea leaves was imported from Japan.
Liya made the connection instantly.
A rush of emotions - confusion, anger, frustration and…immense guilt - hit her like a tidal wave. Figuratively of course, but the pain was very much physical — a relentless ache in her blackened heart.
Hiroki still cared for her, in his own way.
Reaching out for her parchment, Liya let her quill tip rest on the page, the purple ink seeping through the back. Was she really going to do this?
Oh yes she was.
Remembering all the sweet moments with Hiroki - all the laughter, the tears, the love - she would be damned if she let him go like this.
And so, Liya began to write…

Also inserting these beautiful sketches that Kuro drew ^^
thank you for the tag dear @light-of-the-room / @niffy-kifli😚 your babies are so cute btw uhhh i love your art
@lyra-prag same girl same, its a very inescapable, very welcomed face at this point i will never get enough🤤
@amus2110 NO BECAUSE I AM ON THE SAME BRAINROT BOAT RN THANKS TO YOU AND ROSELIGHT?!!!
my gallery is pretty much filled with either Allie, Dean, or both. its getting way out of hand (not to mention the concerning amount of videos and edits of these two they are literally possessing my feed everywhere and i LOVE it)
anyways i'd happily sit with Myrna Allie for 8 hours (and more if i could)
ahh she's so prettyyyy
but to be completely honest she was the second-recent in my photo gallery, because the first one was this Tobi and Myrna Allie and Dean one (guess im having a very fun, very LOUD flight🤭)
Oh this is fun! Also tagged by @creampuffreblogsandyaps
Well… we’re in for the ride besties 👹
Sebastian Sallow AND Marcus Lopez (who also happens to be my Sebastian’s faceclaim??). That would be interesting. Marcus would yap about Ronald Reagan and capitalism, Sebastian would yap about dark magic and relics and I’d be just sitting there like 👁️👁️. No that’s actually pretty funny. Because let’s be honest these two are UNHINGED and IMPULSIVE and INSANE. Love this. Still better than crying infants. So I guess I’ll vibe with these two idiots 😎😎
NP tag: @cheonchi @colettening @myokk @alliezarin and anyone who wants to join!
The last fictional character in my gallery is Xu Zhi (played by Liu Haocun) from one of my fav c dramas, Be Passionately In Love (Issa direct translation from the Chinese name - 陷入我们的热烈)
I think it would be fun! By default, Xu Zhi speaks Chinese so…I get to put my rusty dusty mediocre Chinese skills to practice HAHAHAHA (and she’s Liya’s fc so that’s a bonus 😆)
NPT: @pearlevie @syrooo @pierrot-dokki @siegvat @galaxiasgreen @slytherinsomniari @kurodoroppu and whoever else wants to join ^^
I know nobody truly gaf and I’ve probably mentioned this an ungodly amount of times BUT I’ve seen “oc fc” posts circulating around so I thought i would use this as yet another insufferable reminder of Liya’s face claim — who happens to be the reason why I started watching c dramas in the first place!
I was scrolling thru Pinterest and this particular pic caught my eye and I was like hello that’s so Liya like look her at doe eyes!!
So I decided to look her up and boom! Started watching her c dramas bc I’m curious…and now I’m an avid c drama fan!
I ALSO got into IVE because of Liya…she reminded me so strongly of Wonyoung in terms of work ethic and personality so I decided to finally listen to their songs…now I’m a DIVE!
So…I can thank Liya for helping me get into two of my biggest interests now 😙

a little tag game I thought would be cute to help share some fanfics! I wanna see your first interaction in fics between your love interests. Was it love at first sight? A massive hate fest? Or just an awkward teenage introduction lol?
of course, non writers can join in too. I wanna hear all your HC’s and brainrot, yap at me about how you think your characters met. (Even oc ships count or drawings or platonic ships or… you get the idea. I hate setting rules so there are none)
This is Seb and Maeve’s first interaction in fic. However, they’ve known each other for three years at that point. I’ve written it so they met when she beat him in the DADA duel in fifth year (somehow cos girlies spell casting is shit lmao) and he’s a bit sour about it. We don’t see that though. The fic starts three years later and the fact he’s a slytherin, plays for her rival team in quidditch (and his position is to literally hit Bludgers at her head), and is an insufferable wind up, hasn’t helped at all.
You can read “How To Lose a Slytherin in 10 Days” on Wattpad and AO3 if you’d like to. Links in my master list
(so much yapping under the cut like i'm genuinely sorry i did this to you guys)

aurora
sebastian
my mc, main girl, first character--whatever you want to call her--is paired w/ seb in my legacy timeline (and modern au, basically any canon w/out ocs?? lol). they are best friends, though aurora is initially so cautious of him at the start (and he literally uses her for her ancient magic/helps influence her towards dark magic like the dumbass he is). they fight often, and it's a simmering slowburn before either admits feelings, but seb and aurora are so similar/different in only a slightly toxic way
how they meet: in the slytherin dorms, then during dada aurora beats him in the duel cause duh, it's canon but also so fucking funny if you think about it
how they feel about each other: aurora trusts him w/ her life (a rare honor, one he probably doesn't deserve), and hates the idea of ruining the friendship once she realizes she's fallen in love. seb doesn't truly see her in that way until after the events of their fifth year, when aurora's all he has left, yet doesn't think she'd love him back. a classic blunder, of course
tropes: i hate everyone but you, touch him or her and die/i would kill for you, black cat x golden retriever
lottie
garreth
my sweet lottie is paired w/ garreth, and they just might be the purest, most lovingly chaotic pair i've got. potions partners and soulmates... who would've known? i love that the two of them rile each other up (it's the adhd & coffee combination), but know when to bring the other back down to earth. their future together is sickly sweet--lots of little redheaded children breaking glass vials in garreth's healing potions shop (and scribbling on blackboards in lottie's arithmancy classroom)
how they meet: their families are longtime friends (the weasleys and abbotts, lottie's maternal family), so the two of them grew up together. basically neighbors--definitely besties--lottie knew she was always going to marry him
how they feel about each other: my girl has been in love w/ garreth since they were kids, and makes her feelings quite known (he's missing all the signals), while garreth doesn't realize his love has shifted from platonic to romantic until he smells lottie in his amortentia... dumbass
tropes: childhood friends to lovers, oblivious to love/last to know, partners in crime mischief
aleksander
imelda
i only recently decided on this, but aleks ends up w/ imelda for my in-game timeline. it makes so much sense to me that my big, shy, tough guy falls in love w/ the small feisty, bossy, quidditch player he has to lob bludgers at. i'm a sucker for a sports romance, but these two have a really fun dynamic for me cause aleks lets her walk him like a dog just as often as he calls her out on her shit. imelda is focused on her team, so when they do end up dating it's under wraps (and well before then everyone could see what was going to happen lol)
how they meet: on the quidditch pitch during their third year--aleks just transferred to hogwarts and is trying out for hufflepuff, imelda is still a rookie for slytherin. they don't pay much mind to each other until sixth year maybe
how they feel about each other: aleks falls in love almost immediately (once they start interacting), but gives her space & lets her call the shots; imelda takes a long time to warm up to aleks, and is in denial about her growing feelings towards him
tropes: grumpy x sunshine, everyone sees it but you, sworn off dating/secret relationship
---
and since that wasn't too much for you guys to read... here are just a few oc ships cause i'm obsessed
(also--been working on a new ship template... the pairing ideas have been flowing, and i'm ready to shoot my shot)
aurora
savina (aka, savora)
(from my ghoulie @sallowsoul)
my favorite oc ship, y'all know the drill. these two haunted dolls are so goddamn dynamic together, and the trauma bond/blood pact is couple goals. savina on her own is absolutely magnetic, but the two of them together is just actual crack to me. i can't get enough of how genuinely sweet (& outrageously sexy) this ship is
how they meet: in a modern au, they meet in a frat bathroom lol. savina's hanging out in there cause she's never been to a party, aurora is trying to hide from an ex of sorts. they drink lukewarm wine together & fail to read signals until severa shows up
tropes: best friends to lovers, damaged goods, soulmates/red string of fate (imo)
orpheus (aka, askerr?)
(from the loveliest @amus2110)
no one does toxic situationship like askerr, lemme tell you. two manipulative, obsessive freaks w/ dark pasts who run from their feelings when it comes to romance? the vibes are fucked but so are they... (the modern crime au where he's a drug lord and she's a pickpocket turned killer? even better imo)
how they meet: amanda and i have blurbs about their interactions (found here & here), but i think we've gone w/ the owlery tower as their first meeting? (correct me if i'm wrong lol)
tropes: strangers to enemies to lovers(?), but we can't be together/damaged goods, "friends" w/ benefits
lottie
tobi (aka, pinky promise)
(from, of course, amanda again lol)
most of lottie's ships are sugary but this one oh my god... so pure, so perfect. they're so similar (shoutout scotland), but complement each other in their differences. i love that they're got such a healthy relationship cause lord knows we love the askerr toxicity lmao (the pinky promise board is a nice change of pace)
how they meet: i don't think we've decided yet, but they're both in gryffindor so i'm assuming they meet through their house (though tobi's a year ahead of lottie). maybe she's tutoring him? either way lottie's been crushing hard
tropes: love that heals, friends to lovers, golden retriever x golden retriever
leo (aka, ??)
(from sweet @lyra-prag)
this was recently birthed from my cursed ship chart, but honestly? i love it. lottie crushes on everyone (literally everyone), but the idea of leo having a thing for her in return is so sweet to me. they're both nerdy in specific ways, but then also very gregarious and lowkey kinda cool/popular?? either way it's super cute
how they meet: i'm thinking arithmancy class, or maybe astronomy cause lottie's more into numbers than stars (and he could teach her a thing or two...)
tropes: extravert x extravert, secret admirer, (maybe fake dating??)
aleksander
lukai (aka, alekai)
(from bbygirl @ravenothere)
oh my lord these boys... this ship will be the death of me. i adore luke's dynamic w/ aleks, especially as they grow up together and their 'experimentation' turns into something so real neither boy can deny it (though aleks will try). closeted bi hufflepuff beater aleks, flirty bi slytherin chaser lukai... the heated rivalry jokes write themselves
how they meet: lukai defends aleks during their third year when my polish boy barely knows any english, then they're casual friends & quidditch rivals until puberty hits (and the homoeroticism begins)
tropes: best friends w/ benefits, the closet is glass, drunken confessions
aliria (aka, idon'trememberifwechoseanameornot)
(by lovely @rvchelking)
another newer ship, i'm lowkey obsessed w/ the potential of this one. hufflepuffs in love, healers in the future. it's a perfect mix of 'opposites attract' and 'these similarities are kind of perfect...', and i'm loving the idea of them together. aliria is such a badass, i just know aleks has been crushing on her (and is dying to swap scarves--even though they're the same color lmao)
how they meet: i'm gonna go out on a limb and say in the hufflepuff dorms, though i do like the idea of aleks asking aliria to tutor him in order to get close to her...
tropes: the future is bright, secret admirer, matching scars lol
honorable mentions, of course, to kerrski (aleks x orpheus), aurlyne (aurora x mylene), lorna (lottie x myrna), and all of the other ships that have been brewing in my brain (i'm looking at you, corvus and giraldo...)
Thank you @barnabyjr and @galaxiasgreen for the tag!! ^^ this is super fun HEHE
I’ve just realised I wrote this two years ago….crazy!! (i would like to think that my writing has improved since then…?) Seb’s the og rage-baiter circa 1890s 💀 sooo this is liya and Seb’s first interaction — the academic rivalry be going crazy 👹
This is an excerpt from my fic…Allurement on wattpad and ao3!
I am obsessed!!! Obsessed with this cm OMGGG!! I’ve always wanted to cm an art of Liya and Seb as their representative animals and I’ve finally done it!! ^^
Sebby gives me doggie vibes (like protecter, happy go lucky vibes) whilst Liya’s looks have always been referenced to a fawn so yk I just had to HEHEHE (also ironic bc aside from looks, she’s nothing like a fawn LOL)

Throwing all four of my children in the ring so play with them at your hearts content 🤭 I’m so curious to see how they would get along with everyone’s babies, romantic or not hehe! kiss kiss fall in love
Template by @barnabyjr 🩷 Ty for creating such a fun trend!!
STOPPPP THIS IS AMAZING!! AND THE TEXTS!!! Why are they SO accurate 😆
Jarleria is the couple everyone would get annoyed with so quick because they’re way too happy. Praying for Ferris because Archie just found his new favorite person and will tease him 25/7. Nilyves would be the scariest and win the Halloween couple costume contest every year. Tiger couple will 100% be sharing hair tips in the middle of a match.

@lyra-prag I love these pairs to death hehehe Lyra can and will fix Archie I believe it
If Liya (my Hogwarts legacy OC) was a fruit, it would be her most hated fruit — The Pomegranate.
Liya hated them.
She did not have the patience nor the time to meticulously cut and peel the fruit open just for it to look like an absolute mess on the inside. It wasn’t worth the time nor the effort.
Maybe she despised them because of how much she saw herself in them. Liya liked the way she was perceived. She was effortlessly smart, composed, and elegant on the outside. Smooth and appealing.
But as soon as someone tried to open her up, everything spilled out — all the bottled up anger, the regret, the guilt, and the heavy weight of her sins — and the consensus was unanimous. It wasn’t worth the trouble.
The illusion was now shattered. Liya was prettier, more impressive, more appealing on the outside. On the inside, however, lay a different story. She was a mess. She was bitter and sharp in some parts, easily broken in others. She was a burden, tough to handle and even tougher to love.
But who could blame them? Liya knew the harsh reality deep in her heart too. She knew there was too much bitterness packed tightly in a much too fragile shell — a shell, too good to be true, that seemed tough on the outside.
When her true essence was splayed out on display, all everyone’s left with was the inevitable wave of disappointment. The aftermath too tedious for anyone to bother cleaning up.
And maybe that’s why Liya was terrified of not being able to uphold everyone’s expectations…because she would much rather fake a persona that everyone liked than be the bitter, jagged flesh that everyone regrets ever picking up.
———
What fruit would your oc be? I would love to read them!! ^^ (ofc u don’t have to write as much as I did, but I like to yap)
