okay all else aside it relishes me that, after all the posturing on twitter, kagawa's actual performance in kiwami 3 is completely devoid of swag. absolutely sauceless. imagine outing yourself as an abuse apologist over the most nothing RGG voice acting performance since daigo in 2006

kiwami 3 is so weird... so close to being something and yet falling just short at every turn

re-recorded ch5 lines for kuroda but not sakuya for some reason so in the middle of the sequence at the start with kiryu and kashiwagi the voice tone randomly switches between the 20 year old lines and the new ones they recorded for the middle part that was unvoiced in the original game and then back again. because. i don't know?? did they not have time to re-record anyone but kuroda?

maybe i find the voice par somewhere and crack it open to see if there's anything in the files

stopping for now without being able to say much of note because my knee has been hurting since i got home from work and it's really distracting

it's crazy though how much more i'm already enjoying saejima's substories compared to akiyama's. i truly wish they'd let kiwami 3 cook for longer because i think a proper rework of 4 with character development in the main storyline instead of just being sequestered off into substories could make me appreciate akiyama a lot more

#rgg4 liveblog #being naturally flexible is great until you grow up into an adult with weak joints #anyway yeah akiyama should be a character i like but i just kinda don't gel with how most of his substories involve sky finance in some way #i like playing him more than i like playing saejima because big & slow isn't really my thing in a video game #i'm especially looking forward to tanimura though because #localisation of 4 remastered makes saejima look like a dick and akiyama just is a dick to women #that is another thing holy hell rgg3 and 4 with the updated cabaret minigames would be awesome... the old one just doesn't do it for me #i guess the other thing akiyama suffers from is having less substories suddenly because they removed the transphobic one in 4R #i'm not going to rag on akiyama forever i promise but every hour of this game i think think about the potential of it. it's a shame #a rgg4 where the characters were characters as much as they were devices in each other's plots.......
